Champagne Fizz Finally Flushed...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is a picture of the tree. It was grown from seed last year and held over. Right now it is over ten foot tall.

Here she is from below. With the cool weather, I'm not expecting to see her turn orange. I hope she surprises me.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful, Shirley.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone. Hey, there is no way to get my nose even close to a bloom. Those babies are really up there.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Wow!! I like color, form, and leaves. Do you know parents? Is whiskers in there?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This isn't my cross. When I got the seeds, all they said was pink aurea x pink aurea or something like that. Definitely not pink. LOL!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Brugie..did I send you those? In have some seedlings marked that cross too!
OOPS! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nope, not these. Sorry. I hope you get something as pretty though. I think this is a very nice yellow.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

I love that color!!! Definitely NOT pink! :~) On the screen, she has more of an apricot glow, so her name is perfect! Does she look more yellow to you? May we see a side view too? (Hoping to see more pictures - fingers crossed.)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Shirley, she is so tall, I can't get a side view. I'll check and see if I can find one from last year.....yes, found one from last year.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Love it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone. I went outside about an hour ago to give a kitten to it's owner. The poor little thing had walked a mile to get to our house. When I was out there, I couldn't believe how good the yard smelled. Normally, we have a south or west wind and it carries the brug fragrances away from the house, but tonight the wind is from the north and it is wonderful.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

What a beauty!! Love it.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

i know I posted how much I liked this pic. Must have been so overwhelmed I forgot to hit send.
Wonderful Shirley

Mifflintown, PA(Zone 6a)

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Very pretty.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Shirley,
At 10 foot tall, how do you get it in the house? Or do you have a more than 10 foot tall greenhouse?

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Brugie...... I just want to say Thank You for sending a Ch. Fizz cutting last fall. It HAS to be one of the prettiest brugs I have seen in a long time. Those tendrils are something to see and the fragrance is wonderful. This poor plant has been through a lot this year but still managed to flower.
Thanks Once Again, Shirley......

P.S. Some of your 'trials' are blooming here.

Thanks Everyone. Trunnels, last winter it touched the ceiling in my DH's shop and started turning because it couldn't go up any further. Once it came outside, it began to straighten up and grow more. It will have to have a serious hair cut if it comes back in this winter, but a decision hasn't been made yet as to whether to keep the mother plant or to start cuttings. I'm so slow this fall. I think it is because we didn't really have summer and I'm still waiting. LOL! I have a very small greenhouse, but I don't heat it until around Feb. or March.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Shirley, if you have cuttings I would love to be on the list. LindaSC

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Me, too! (But I'm not encouraging you to cut that beautiful tree!)

Hi Shirley, I've been away for a couple of weeks and I'm just not catching up on my reading! This is a beautiful bloom.....and what a treat is must be to see it in full flush! Renee, your closeup is gorgeous!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

How in the world did I miss this thread, whew!!! Champagne Fizz is a beauty, wow!!! How tall is she and, I assume, she (big plant) wintered inside, or was she a cutting?
I'm trying to figure out the best way to go. I wonder, if they are wintered outside, do they come on late, bloom so-so, grow way tall or is it better to winter inside, do they get a better take off and bloom/grow more??? If that's the case, I'll have to build a two story GH, and get a fork lift to move them in and out...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sherry, she is over ten foot tall. I may give her to someone else this fall or cut her off at the knees and re-root the top. Haven't really decided yet, for sure. As for the over-wintering outside/inside...I can't tell you the difference because I can't do it. Way too cold here.

Thanks Brinda. How's the baby doing? I sure hope he is doing much better.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very pretty Shirley. I love the yellow and orange ones.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I love the flower in Renee's picture
Is that The same one?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Very pretty Shirley and huge. How you gonna over winter that one

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Shirley, you should be proud of this one! I keep looking at Renee's pic and it is so pretty! The tendrils look like they are dancing around. I love it!

Xander is doing much better....almost good as new! LOL Thanks so much for asking! I bet his parents understand now how serious asthma can be and what can happen with it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Same one CC. Thanks everyone. Somehow, this one has to be cut back, cut off and started over, or something because it is way to big to hold over inside.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I love the blooms on this one.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Don't know why my post wasn't there earlier, maybe I didn't hit send?

It is a beauty Shirley and Renee. My cutting did not root. Love those tendrils!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm surprised it didn't root. I swear, this one would root in paper towels. I know you root a lot in water. I've not tried that with this one because soil works so well. Everytime a branch breaks, I stick it in the pot with the others and it doesn't take long.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I very seldom lose a cutting, works for me in water most times. I remember the bottom kept splitting on it, I had to cut a new bottom on cutting, more than one time. It is possible this one does not like to be rooted in water.
