This poor first bloom has been battered by wind and rain all week-end. I will have better pictures soon =)

Just looking at the leaves in the first pic, I was going to say it looked like my BF X L'A from Susie. It was a pretty aurea looking yellow. Is this the first day? If it is, it still could turn pink!

Kell,
............The bloom was about 4 days old at the time and stayed yellow .
It's B xW , very strong aurea and no pink at all.
You have no idea how much I was hoping for a yellow ... yay !
There are a half dozen buds that should open in a day or so.
I'll be home for a few days this time so I can watch more closely.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Would you look at those long tendrils! Pretty one.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Very pretty, Scoot.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Pretty ... looks like a nice soft yellow. Nice tendrils.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I love this one, Scoot! Her tendrils have me drooling...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Super tendrils. I like the way the color travels up the corolla tube too.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Thanks all =)

Brugie, Thanks for another tip on things to watch for. Yes, it was evenly colored.

Can't wait for the other buds to open. I just walked out there to take a look.

Dang , it smells so good out there and it's mostly this seedling.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

The first bloom is now 6 days old and after all the winds and rain is just starting to show signs of deterioration around the edges.

This is another Bert x Whiskers bloom just opening on the same tree.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

You did a great job of growing it and I think it is truly lovely.

"THEN ................ gotta figure out how to use the color chart correctly."

Where does one look for this color chart?

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

You have to buy one.
I got mine through ABADS. I do not know if you have to be a member or even if they have any left for sale. We had to buy in quantity and pay ahead so we could make the order big enough.
I think it was around 15 dollars ????

Tell me about color charts, please. I'm a smell/color girl and I'd love to see the charts. TIA!!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I got a chart too, now if I could get a seedling that is not white, I'm ready. LindaSC

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

very pretty seedlings
love the tendrils!!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Very pretty blooms! What number would you give it ?

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Monika ,

I just checked her in full sunlight . Dang am I seeing sun spots when I blink my eyes , not worried , it will pass.

I come up with 255,218,77

The first bloom is 7 days old now and still holding her shape and color . I love her !

The other thing I love is the fact that she opens this color and holds it 100 % and all the way up. *sighs*

I'm keeping her unless I find a look-alike . Hope not .

I LOVE those tendrils! I was hoping that cross would produce some pretty yellows! Scoot, it's so pretty and the leaves look so much better than Whisker's leaves.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

She's a bloomin' fool !

The bloom on the bottom right is the first one that opened ...9 DAYS AGO.

Yeah , I know it is looking tired around the edges but the bell hasn't even begun to collapse.

It still presents a pretty picture viewed from a distance.

Her pet name is Tuffy .

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

My gosh! Thats a long time for one little bloom! Great!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a huge plant! I bet Susie will be thrilled to get a piece of this one! Good job!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Thanks Kell.

Once again kicking myself for my old habits of pinching off side shoots to promote vertical growth ....... grrrrrrr !

Tuffy is big so I can send susie a big chunk if she wants it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

She really is a pretty one, foliage and all. Nice job gals. Someday, maybe this one will filter down to some of us. I understand keeping it for testing for a while though. Tuffy.....that is a cute pet name.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Thanks Brugie, and you are so right .

.............Tuffy ain't a-goin' anywhere w/o Susies permission.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Scoot, this is a beautiful color! I like the shape of the blooms and its long tendrils.
The color chart is very helpful.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Wow -- I'm very impressed by this one! Congrats to you and Susie, Scoot!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I haven't received my color chart yet. Wish I had it now while I have blooms.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Me too, Shirley. Guess we'll have to wait until hurricane season is over at this point...

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I like it, scooterbug! I think you should keep it... flowers that last 9 days on a brug are a real bonus. Plus it's such a strong, healthy-looking plant. It might have some good genes for strength and flower life. I really like the shape of those flowers and the darker yellow ribs.
