Beautiful Laurrie!

I was given this from a friend who purchased it off of ebay, labeled: 6 inch Pink Japanese Morning Glory, so that is all I can tell you name wise. I guess some people just don't know the names and label them as they see them, in which this case they named it correctly, but it needs a more classical name I do think. LOL

This looks like the Ipomoea alba; only it's not alba; it lavender! It's lovely!

I have a seed pack from Japanese MG that looks just like this one and it is Heian Izumi. I'm pretty sure they are the same. I didn't use a flash because the envelope is very shinny.

Shirley, OhioBreezy's flower has a white center and looks a little different, but it is pretty close. It looks like you might have yellow stamens with pollen? It's hard to say. Both are beautiful!

Hi Brugie, yes I also am growing Izumi, here is a photo, they are different, but from the packet I have, they are similar!! This one is more of a pink than the Izumi is though. Izumi has more of a lavender cast to it than pink, at least mine do :) Thanks for trying to help though!!!

I think my packet looks more pink than lavender. That was what I was going by. I didn't get them planted this year. I just plain ran out of room.

those are so cool

Oh dear, I know the feeling!! I planted most of mine in 5 gal. pots because of the shorter growing season (which you would know about too LOL) And so far so good, I have most of them setting seed now, just waiting patiently for them to ripen so I can yank them out and store the containers
