Purple Smoke Tree

While out cleaning up in the garden this evening I found a few seeds on mine. Anyone ever grow this tree/shrub from seed? If so how should I go about germinating these? Do the need a period of chill first?

I'd fall sow these in a pot. It seems the easiest method and it's about the time to start fall sowing anyway.

Thanks Capt.....I'll do that. Not sure what I'd do with more smoke trees, but I just can't resist sowing seeds and growing things out. :-)

I'm glad it helped you Carole....I actually decided I didn't need to grow the seeds out so sent them to another DGer who was looking for some. Hopefully they'll grow for him/her

I'll be sure and let you guys know in the spring how they turn out.
I'm going to start them in the pot where I sowed my sterile Purple Fountain Grass "seeds" (lol) since they obviously won't be coming up ~ hehehe Live and learn!
