Just opened today.......my first red and I'm so excited! :D
Vitifolia?
Passifloras blooming in Saskatchewan :D
How PRETTY!!!
Congrats!!!!!
They are all very pretty! Congratulations!
Have you any seeds? Would love to trade you for some. Very nice blooms, great job!
Lovely pictures Pam.
Thanks Shelly and Mountainmeadows! I'm not sure I'll have the time for them to produce seeds...but if I am lucky this year or next I'll contact you right away MMS. :D
Thanks Liz! I never ever thought I'd find a red one here. I have edulus, Incense, P. Jamesonii and Incarnata (sp?) but I'm not sure if they will ever bloom.

Good for you Pam. Where are you going to put all these tropicals that you're collecting in the winter?
In windows, under lights.....anywhere and everywhere there is light!! ;)
Such a pretty red. You are doing great with the tropicals.
Lilypon, this was my first year with passies too.. this one is so pretty. I admire you for keeping tropicals up there, it is hard for me here as a relatively new gardener (of 4 years), have learned about alot of plants, soil, seeds, etc.. all of it is a big challenge.. can't even begin to tell you how many plants I've killed. I can only imagine what you all go thru. Regards and have a great day. A
Thanks Brugie! Belotii has gone through one winter inside my house, the white one I've had for three years now and it is a real trooper. The only one I lost was Lavender Lady....I had it for two years and since she bloomed so well here I will have to get another one.
Vitifolia was purchased without buds so it has also joined the short summer blooming winner's list.
I just phoned my Dad to tell him of my success...they truly are winners since he informed me Inuvik, NWT, had a warmer summer than us this year. :(
Thanks Gourd! It is a challenge that's for sure.....the killing frost that is threatening to arrive at any time now and the stress/bugs of living inside for 8 months of the year are my plants worst enemies. Keeps us in shape running them in and out....
Congrats Lilypon! That is gorgeous...you need an atrium!
ROFLMBO........I'll pass your suggestion on to DH weeds! ;)
Pam, last night on our news, they said that a couple of places in Iowa got down to 36 degrees the night before. I knew it was cold, but never in August do we even have temps in the 50's and we have had a lot of them. Today....another story. We are back to HOT!! It is only 81, but it is humid.
I wish we could have those here.... I worry about my tropicals but we have crops in the fields, some in the Province had -1C and -2C but so far Dad's hasn't been hit. Temps in the 80's would be so welcome...most crops are a month away from harvest. Dad said my Great Uncle talked about one July in 1915 were they had to wear their Buffalo Robes to keep warm....this summer is so close to that one. :( Hard to believe that last year we had six weeks of high 90's (F) and low hundreds and the rest of the summer, and even a couple of weeks in October, were in the 80's (F).
I want a perfect summer next year...hahahaha (a girl can dream...... can't she???)

Nice going lil!!!
Very pretty red vitifolia!!
Thanks Monterey and Tropicman! I lost the first set of buds after the plant dried out a little bit....now I make sure to water it twice a day.
So what can I polinate it with? Which of the above are fertile?
Both, they can pollenate each other. In the afternoon or early evening get a soft paintbrush(small) and brush the pollen from the stamens of one open flower to the stigmas of the other flowering plant 's flowers, maybe get two seperate brushes . That's about it. Tropicman is the GUY about this stuff to ask.
Thanks for the method instructions Monterey. :)
Oh Don....which of the above ones are fertile??
the photos are beautiful, Pam.............Elaine
Thanks Elaine! :D
Called your Dad tonight, eh. That's how you got the name of that "tree." ;-
LOL.......hahahahahahahahahahaha........ :b I don't think so. Last talked to him yesterday morning. It was 24 years ago I was up there, I don't think he'd know/remember.
The P. incarnata I planted this spring has had only three blooms so far but, is putting on plenty of new growth. Maybe next year, huh?
Almost forgot. Where did you find that red one? I must have one, too!
Check Lowes or Home Depot. They both have had them lately.
Where did I find it.....in Regina @ Lakeview Greenhouses. Coming to Saskatchewan for a visit??? ;)
I wish! :-| Will do monterey.
Gotta go to work right away but imway2dumb if I lived in the U.S. I would order from here:
http://www.gkexoticplants.com/Passiflora.htm They have soooooo many I would love to try!
Thank you, very much!! Have a good day.
They have a great image gallery hit links and look for passiflora images. It's down about half way. That's at the exotic plants site. I ordered a passi from them it came perfect. shipping I think is the same for 1 or 3 so get a lot save on the shipping.
Been there, added it to my "favorites," too.
A bunch of my pics are in there. I like it because they have cool guest people that make up new hybrids. It's like rubbing elbows with the stars( Of Passiflora Land) LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huh-huh.
