Albino

Oooh, spooky - it's very ghostly looking! How is the mother plant doing? Is her albino child putting too much of a strain on her resources?

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

Root

i wonder what genetics it is carrying ?

Is it fragrant, Root?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Its sooo cute!!!!
Did it get any color?

Belmont, NC(Zone 7b)

Definitely unique! Love that white bloom on a white plant.
Has anyone else ever had this? Or is it a first?
Did the bloom change color?
What is the name of the mother plant? Are they male and female?
I know I'm asking too many questions, but you have to admit-this is pretty unusual.
Printed a picture to keep.
Thanks for sharing.

Mother protecting her little pup. Real neat and what a picture. Will be intersting to watch as it grows up and has more blooms. Please do not cut it loose for a while. Get some pollen off it. Ted

Root that is just adorable, great job! I didnt think the albino's even got as far as a bloom wow! I love it....are you going to cut your maya back this year for Fall? Or leave her be, not speaking of the (albino pup) If you do some trimming back of your Maya please keep me in mind Doc.

Doc...did you give me an unnamed brug at the Fall RU last October? if you did, it's finally 'Y'd and is getting great size to it...the little pods are real skinny...very interesting and I can't wait to see what it will look like, it was going to be a surprise. :)

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Sports are so interesting and unusual, I'm especially glad to be on DG, at this time, to see this 'ghost' bloom. Thanks for the great photos, Root! I love it, but somehow, it makes me sorta sad.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

That is just too neat

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 8a)

Root, you have given me hope for my sport. I have one on my P&C and it is getting to be a good size. Mama plant has buds on it so maybe the sport will get some also.

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

Stunning -- I was wondering if I could hope for anything from the white sport on my Snowbank. Now it has a role model!

This is an interesting little cyber-collection of white sports -- Maya, Peaches & Cream, Snowbank ... anymore?

The one in the pic is hiding another small white sucker halfway around the trunk -- this plant could eventually have two white branches!

It seems that all or most of the sports are on variegated plants. Is that true or do the all green plants have them too???

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Root, it is so interesting to see the progress of your albino sport. i had no idea it would bloom. Hope you can keep it alive for some time and the Maya momma keeps on growing. Thanks for all the pics. Good luck. Donna

Root, it has a bloom on it. I did not see it because it is the same color as the leaves. LOL!
