I need some help with Loropetalum-chinense propagation. I've been fairly successful using cutting at different times of the year but my question is concerning seeds. About 25% of the different articles I've read from web sites & gardening books that state you can propagate using seed but I've tried many different ways with no success. I've tried every method that I've used with other seeds. Any ideas?

Maybe the seeds are sterile.... Are you collecting them yourself? Perhaps the plant is hybrid that won't produce viable seeds.
American Horticultural Society Plant Propagation states regarding a relative in Hamamelidaceae family that the seeds are doubly dormant and need 3 months warm, then 3 months cold stratification or in very cold climates, sow fresh seed and overwinter in a coldframe. Maybe that's the trick, if you haven't already tried it.
