Ginny, show us your lily pics. Just keep em coming. Which lily did you show us buried with the babies starting on the stems?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

It was Latvia.

I'll have to go size some pix, then I'll add them.

Clematis in middle of lily bed, growing up dead tree. now it is almost 11 ft. high. Have to add some more wire to tree. It is amazing when in bloom in early spring and then the puffy seed s for rest of the year.

Thought you were going to see a lily. Ha ha. This is Edith Wolford. Rose in the background was planted 3 years ago. Actually I'm cheating a bit. This is from my Victoria garden, taken in May of this year.

If you could just attach the fragrance, that would make it perfect. Your gardens are lovely, I'm not tired of the photos yet.

I love Boogie Woogie....so nice to see a owner's photo instead of a colored up version in a catalogue.

Lovely pictures inanda. I have my eye on that Sally. More pics to come?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Ja ja. No time now. Sun is out, after an inch of rain last night.

Beautiful pictures.

Oh my! Lovely! How many varieties of lilies do you grow Inanda?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Oh heaven. How many lilies. Don't know. 200 or so maybe. That doesn't count the non-lilies like the arums etc. that live inside for the winter. I don't count. Except Martagons. have 17 of them and about 16 or so groups of seedlings. Actually bulblets from scales, not seeds. the seeds are just like grass still. I'll leave them alone for another year and then maybe line them out next year if I think they are large enough.

We (The Manitoba Regional Lily Society) has got to the point that the martagon enthusiasts will pay whatever for a martagon and then scale most of it, so we can all share.

Most expensive one was called Wine Cup. Note the was. I think it was $250 US. 9 or 10 of us bought it at an auction to tissue culture it. Bad move. Was all contaminated died. We are replacing it though and
will scale it instead.

Used to garden in a community garden in Victoria. After 27 years as a community garden it was sold and is now a housing estate. Makes me cry. Everybody used to walk through it, like a park and now .... just houses. New tacky houses on miniscule bits of land.

I usually take 4 or 5 scales from any lily I buy/swop. then I can be sure of having the lily even if the mother rots over the winter.

Do you want some more pictures or have you had enough.?

Martagon pix will have to wait till next year. Wasn't in MB when they were in bloom. Was in Lotus land. Do have them on a CD. If I can work out how to send them. hmm..... Not very computer litterate. Can't spell either.
Ginny

Yes, we will get those martie pics up soon, not to worry. How dare you go to Lotus land when you knew you had an echiveria coming from pooru pardon. sometime before freeze-up, .....maybe.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Think we had better continue this off list. Hmm........ don't know what to say. I'll dig out the CD to see if you can post pix from it.
No fun. you baaaaad thing.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

All right. Actually, meant to tell you that I swopped echevaria babies from the leaves that broke off in shipment. So now I have some plumeria to baby all winter. I have one left, looking for a home. Do you want it? The one looks just like the Brug that you got.

Are you going to get some brug cuttings from BC? I need a white one for a friend who took me very proudly today to show me her blooming brug. Had to tell her it was a datura. Gulp.
