Progress of my tropical beds....

WOW! I meant to have gardens like that! Those are gorgeous Kyle! Double Wow!
Susie..thanks! I wish I had your climate..people drive by all the time and slam on the brakes. They say..."you can't grow this stuff here!!" I say.."REALLY?" LOL......
But Kyle, you'd have to take our wind and our heat and our bugs.......my cannas and brugs sure don't look as good as yours do(but my palms and nanas are bigger!)
My big palms are in back....LOL
I think your garden really rocks, Kyle-da akamai haole!
Truly inspirational! I like how the tall plantings make a natural screen barrier around the front lawn. I may have to try that here!
Hey, your bed are really looking great this year. I specially like the Cynara, I must try it next year. Brugs are looking great also!
I think you have mentioned it before, but I have to ask again where do you overwinter these all?
Kyle, that is fantastic! Bravo!!!! I would swear the pics were taken in Florida!!! Wow, nice job.
beautiful! I am asking the same question where and how do you overwinter all these plants?
Dixie
What a traffic stopper! It's just lovely Kyle! You do a great job with your plantings. DARN! Why can't I have a neighbor like you? I'd love to see it in person.

Definately inspiring....now I know what I have to have next year! And the castors....dang!!! I want all of everything you have in there! LOL
WOW WEEEEE gorgeous....I want a tropical garden like that!! Do I have to move north to get it???
Love that Red Spire castor! You collect seeds and share? :-) Love anything bronzed leafed, especially with contrasts of lime near it. This is my first year trying them but I started way too late and they are all green! Can't believe how easy they are to sprout.
I just keep coming back to this thread, think I will just have to print out these pics to save them for early spring ideas.
Kyle, your place is just beautiful. Like everyone else here, I love that canna. I'm beginning to think that maybe I better dig a new bed somehow, in the front part of the yard if I can find enough sun. Awesome pictures. That has been a lot of work to get put together. Your coleus are wonderful.
Wow in just a matter of few weeks when I last saw your garden and it just took off. Beautiful and your plants must be on super miracle grow! Inspirational.
Outstanding Kyle! What an inspiration you are!! Just WOW!!!
Kyle,
Beautiful! How often do you water and what fertilizer do you use?
Thanks,
arlene
Holy Smolly Kyle,is that house next door for rent???
I could see us being neighbors!LOL!!
Everything looks fantastic,as always,do you space Brug seedlings through all your beds?
Absolutely stunning! I love looking at your photos of your gardens. They are always so beautiful.
I'm kind of hoping the house next door is for sale. Then he can just keep going and going and I can sit with a cold one and watch. LOL
SHOOT, 'CHELE........I WAS HOPING HE WAS PLANNING A TRIP TO TEXAS SOON! ;D
"eyes"
the third pix which is the distance shot of your house is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Do you have a source for the red spire castor bean? I have just the perfect spot to grow a gorgeous plant like that.
again, thanks for sharing your garden
OK guys, heres da scoop.! I do have seeds available of Red Spire castor.
The nieghbor is wealthy and has a few plants,so the house next door isn't available. LOL
All the plants I keep over go into the basement for winter in cool temps and low light.
I put granular fertilizer (10-10-10-) in the beds when I till them. Then miracle gro a couple of times during the summer.
Trish yu too can have a garden like this, Halaman can too.
The good thing is you two can leave your plants in the ground, I can't over winter. :-)
So maybe stamps for seeds??? LMK. I can mail them right away if you are on the address exchange as I am. Or is there a better time?
I should probably wait until early spring to start casters now right?
Eclipse.........Thank you sooo much for the red spire seeds!!
I know they will be beautiful next year!
Things are really starting to grow here. I will take pics soon!
Your gardens look wonderful! Thanks again....Marcia
Sue yu got mail!

Elva
Wow Kyle, that looks great! I had no idea so many tropicals would do so good that far north. A can understand why people passing by are so amazed.
Indigo..our summers are usually hot and humid......like Brazil..so we can grow anything..just can't leave it out over winter! :-(
Kyle,if you see a fat gray bearded man with a shovel after sundown...DON'T SHOOT!!!!!!!
