BINGO!!! you should be seeing mini buds,if you look close.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I cannot see it clearly, but there might be more than one Y...if someone else doen't post, I'll get my magnifying glass...

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh TOO kewl! I'm so excited right now I jumped out of my chair! Thanks so much for letting me know! :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

um - there are tiny little green thingies on there (I just checked) but they are so tiny I can't tell if they are the beginning of new leaves or buds.

Auburn, WA(Zone 8b)

If the little thingies are in the forks of the y's there is a good chance they are buds.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Most likely buds, you should see one right in the middle of the Y.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

They are in the forks of the buds - but like several of them.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Yep,that is where the first ones form, sometimes they do not open, sometimes they do,this lets you know that it has gone into the flower stage, notice how the leaves do not meet the stem at the same place?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Look for this in the upper leaves.

Just saw it - yes, they do meet differently than the lower leaves do.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Then stand back!!!! The show is about to begin!LOL!
Congrats.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

WoooooooHoooooooooo!!!!!!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Which one is it?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Awesome Karrie!! Oh it will be SO exciting to see the blooms!! Congratulations on a job well done Mom!!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I'm just so happy that I will have blooms this year! I hadn't planned on it! :)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

So this is a CC cross, mine from her are growing like gangbusters, can't wait to see what you get!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

yes - this is a CC cross! I'm hoping for dark pink, but white or pink would be just fine with me - they are all pretty to me!

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Yay Karrie!!! It's celebration time! Now if I had Kell's skills, I'd break into a rendition of Kool & The Gang's "Celebrate".

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Good Idea! I also like that old song "We are Family"!!!!! Some sisters sang it - on the top of my head, but can't think of it. (hate these moments!)

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Pointer Sisters?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Karrie:

We Are Family is the theme song for me and my sisters! It was sung by Sister Sledge. :-)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

YES! Pointer Sisters. is that the same as Sister Sledge?

I've always loved that song. Good celebration song.

Valdosta, GA(Zone 8a)

Hi Karrie,

I touched up your picture a little.

Karrie:

The Pointer Sisters is a different group. They didn't sing "We Are Family."

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

That's right, they sang "It's raining men" oops

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Thank you Bill!

And oh well, whoever sang that song, I think we have it in our heads now, and will for the rest of the night! :) (((hugs)))

We are family! I got all my sisters and me!

Oh yeah - there's them boys too!

Another question on this "y" and the tiny little pods:

How long from here should it take before the pods end up like those bigger pods I see on this forum, and also, about how long before I start to see blooms?

Thanks!

Karrie

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes...
I am born!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

lol Karyn.

Karrie, I think it depends on the weather, how much you feed, water etc. BUT from what I have seen this year, in MY yard maybe 2-3 weeks? Now this is just with mine. LOL I dont fertilize near enough, so it may go faster for you. Im hoping it goes fast for you.

Edited because its not weether.. lolol

I water everyday, and fertilize once a week with Kaufmann's recipe. I have been known to go two weeks, on occasion, when my back was feeling bad or I was overwhelmed with too many things going on at once.

edited to say: lol at CC!

ok - but from tiny pods to big pods

and big pods to blooms?

That would be my question. I have about 1 1/2 months left of outdoor space for this.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

That WAS from "tiny" to "bloom" for me... as for others, lol I have no clue.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Kerrie, we must have pictures of the blooming event. You will find that the excitement will never end with the anticipation of something new blooming.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It usually takes close to four weeks from tiny "bud" to full flower here in Iowa. If you pollinate your buds, it will take around three months, maybe more for the seed pods to mature. You should give that a try too. I'm getting so I enjoy looking at seed pods almost as much as the blooms.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

when the pods get a little bigger, I'll take some more pics. My camera is about shot, and doesn't do well on close-ups anymore (as you can see from that first pic)

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Karrie: Congrats on your "BUDS"! If you plan on trying your hand at pollination, you might want to start asking around for some now, so that you'll have it on hand when your blooms open. If your pollination attempts are successful, you will end up with seed "PODS". Can't wait to see the bloom pictures :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Bees won't pollinate them for me?

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Not unless you have another brug of a different variety blooming at the same time, and in the same vicinity...Brugs, unlike dats, are not self pollinating.
