OK here is a seed pod on my moonflower vine. I've never grown these before. Is the pod getting close to harvest or has a way to go yet? Will it turn brown when it's ready? If I harvest now will it still "do it's thing"? Help...I have really fallen in love with this thing!!
Moonflower vine seed pod
Ginger, I posted the answer on your other thread in the Photo forum.
In case you missed it, this IS a seed pod, but NOT ripe. It will turn brown and papery. THEN you can pick it, Most pods have 3 or 4 seeds, white seeds about the size of an english pea or slightly larger in some pods. Some will be white, some will be brownish. Doesn't matter.
Store in a paper envelope for a couple of months to be sure the seed is fully dry and doesn't mold.
In the spring it's helpful to nick the seeds with a nail clipper or something similiar and soak 24 hours to help germination.
Thank you,THANK YOU!!!
