That's so cool daylily, what a great idea for a ladder! So, what are you growing on the ladder? Its a very lovely colour combo.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

ceedub, i use coleus, impatients, marigolds and vines. i have a hanging basket hooked on it. my mil made fun of me when i dugged the ladder out of the trash but after i finish, she thought it was beautiful. belinda

Kudos to yer coolness Belinda! Maybe this summer you could plant a climbing hyacinth bean or two under yer ladder. Then the climbers would climb it. (Pun intended)

Way to go GardenGuyKin!! A fellow tireplanter maker!!

Your stand-up pot is a wonderful idea. I just may have to make me one, or two. I cut and flip mine inside out and use them mainly this way...

love the tires!!! it made me remember when i was a kid, that my parents used tires with portulaca moss in them in the yard. belinda

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

Do you cut your own tires GGK?

Thanx daylily and PG. ;~)

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Wow, I love these tire containers, what do you use to cut them??? Annie

Hi Annie and tcfromky..
Sorry it took so long for me to remember to get back here!
I used a Utility knife and I must say the balder the tire the easier it is to cut.
Kin

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Kin, I'll have to try that! Annie

I have a lot of old clay pots and I think i will try to make an OLD lady out of them. Yours looks great and maybe mine will be passable. Thanks for that picture.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

You're welcome, Elena. You'll do great. Please take a picture when you are done. You can even make a doggie to go with the lady.
:) Donna

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Make a doggie???? How can I do that without a picture????? Creative, I am not! LOL! I have saved the picture you posted, by the way. Thanks again for posting that.

Worden, IL(Zone 6a)

The clay pot lady is fantastic. How do you make that? Do you just tie them together? I am not very creative either but would love to have one of those. Easy or hard to do?

I'll try to see if I can find the site where I got the instructions from. It is very easy to do. If I can do it...so can you!
:) Donna

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Waiting here in Nashville for the instructions!!!!!!!!!

That will be a much better usage for those pots than trying to sell them for a dime apiece at a garage sale.

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

TC, thanks much, I bookmarked those pages! Annie

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

You're very welcome Annie.

Hi TC. I haven't seen you posting lately. I hope you are doing ok. I figure you are bogged down at school and the newspaper office. Just wanted you to know you are missed when you aren't around much.

Mercer, PA(Zone 5a)

Hey Back Elena! And it's awful sweet of ya to ask about me. I have been kinda bogged down this past week. I try and post as much as I can. It actually helps to unwind (post in the forums) here every now and then.

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

That is good news, TC. I am like a Mama Hen and I have to check on my chicks occasionally. Love ya!
