Pretty in Pink

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

The third of my 'class of their own' brugs. Another Monika seedling from last year. Note the very dark color. It hasn't reached that color yet this year. We have had major weather fluctuations over the last month. I'm hoping it will darken more in August.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

You're all welcome anytime.
There is a reason beyond my posting pretty brugs though. A few years ago here we were discussing one of Monika's beautiful brugs and someone asked me if I thought we could all do the same. My answer was that we simply didn't have the brugs genes over here. There was a small gene pool full of suaveolens. Monika's greatest gift to us is providing the genes to us so that we can move ahead. Pretty in Pink is an x candida and Starlight is a pure aurea. White Knight is an aurea x candida. So these are special to me not only because they are lovely plants but because Monika has provided us with the tools to make our own beauties.
For this I'll be forever grateful.

Ditto the above. Thanks so much Monika for providing us with all these special seeds for hybridizing purposes. You are a true friend. (((HUGS)))

Whitewater, WI

A great teacher always supplies her students with the proper tools to learn.

Thank you sooo much, Monika!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

A big Thank You to Monika. Shirley, I've loved that brug since the first day she posted it. I can get 5 people in my Explorer. I'll pick up Tracey, you and Root. We've got room for one more if we leave the kids behind!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

We have to get Kell. She would be so upset if she missed this trip. Boy, don't think I wouldn't go if I had someone to water my plants. In a heartbeat.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks Brugie, Susie was going to leave me at the curb all dressed up with no place to go! WAH WAH WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

Gotta luv dem pinks!!!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You guys are too funny LOL!
Dont overdo it please...I am starting to blush LOL! But it is good to know, that others enjoy this hobby also and that we can enjoy it together!!!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Love this brug and its color!!

Hey guys .... don't forget me!
Maybe I should just get Mike to haul us all out there. I am sure we could convert his trailer really quick to accommodate us all.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

OK, looks like we'll be renting one of those 14 passenger vans Tracey. I can drive it, but not good at parking, so you'll have to help!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Heck,if you guys wanna go in a tractor trailer I'll drive!
we need one to bring back plants

Monika ,You are a great teacher and always take the time to explain things even to newbies, and find answers to my stupid questions
and even though I haven't gotten a special brug YET
I will ,because you have given us the education and genes to do it with. And even the ones that are not special I have held on to because the gene pool is there.....and its yours

Liz I don't remember seeing a picture of that one but its great.I like seeing doubles in other colors

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

CC, you can share the driving with Mike. It will be a traveling brugmobile! All that room, we can clear Miss Lizzy out! And maybe take some of her view with us also!

Gloria, but I do not have this one and it is so special. I am a brug hog!

I love seeing this one on the front page.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I really like this one! It has such a rich, vibrant pink color and big, perfectly formed flowers. We all owe Monika a huge debt of gratitude for sending over her seeds, so that we can enjoy brugs like this in North America rather than just dreaming about them.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)
