Butterfly Bush and Reblooming

Northwest, MO(Zone 5a)

How do I get this bush to bloom all summer long? Do I need to cut off the old blooms for new ones to appear?

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I have been cutting off spent flowers and the plants have been growing new flowers from the next node down the stem where the leaves are. I don't know if this is typical, but the blooming has been great. I love the smell!

Deb, mine bloom all summer into fall by deadheading in the manner Sylvi described above.

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

The bush will bloom either way....dead heading will cause mush faster growth and twice as many blooms...at least for me and mine.
Each time you cut off a spent bloom, your forcing two new branches, each with it's own bloom. These would grow out anyway, but it is my experience they grow out much slower if no deadheading is done.
