Annonimous on the Web...

Unless I tell you or post a picture You will never know if we are of the same racial background. If you have predjudices this may make if difficult for you to aim them at me! If I am short or tall or skinny or fat....young or old or if I have clear skin or acne...it just does not matter! As we get to know each other through the forums we will begin to find kindred spirits and these superficial things will not alter that. Sometimes it is what we DON'T know about someone that makes us open up and get to know them!

Here in DG I have met some really great people...Never have seen most of their faces....but whatever they look like I'd like to call them friends!

amen!!!!!

And AMEN!!!
Have you ever noticed how very small children do not see differences in one another? Or if they do, it just doesn't matter? They just want to have fun together.

I want to add another AMEN!!! I had the same thought several times when I traded and "talked" to people at GW. I'm a newbie at DG so I haven't met many here yet. Through my previous job and hospice volunteer work, I met hundreds of people from various backgrounds. It was a very positive education.

Zanymuse, what you wrote is so true.

Hey everyone,

I'm relatively new here and have only posted a few times, but I have to tell you how very shocked I was to come here today and read Dave's important message. I never ever would have thought that this could happen here at Dave's Garden. The folks I've had contact with here have been absolutely wonderful. Mz.M, glad you don't mind polka-dotted folks...cuz I have been blessed with tons of freckles! :)

I look forward to spending more time here at the garden. There is so much to learn and there are so many of you who openheartedly share your expertise. I'm very proud to be a part of Dave's garden and hope that one day I'll be able to help others also.

:)

MzMunchken - lol - just have to add that I am also head to toe covered in polka dots. I never tried the manure - tried everything else, though. I must say that a lot of people think I am younger due to my spots. So now I am thankful for them.

ROFLOL They told me it was old stinky stump water that got rid of feckles.
Just wanted to add that everybody here is so nice and helpful. Great bunch of dirt players!

well said Zaneymuse. When I was 18 and thought I knew it all I met two guys in a bar (where else) The "ugly" one turned out to be the most interesting person who opened new vistas for me. I raised my kids w/ two basic (among the other 3,685 things) principles: This above all, to thine own self be true, and it must follow as night to day you can't be false to any man. And, you sure as heck can't tell a book by its cover.

I would have to agree with all of you. Personally, I prefer to see people from the INSIDE OUT not vice versa. I wanna know WHO they are inside and I don't really care what they look like. I'm all for making friends. And I've made a few here that I probably wouldn't have elsewhere. And I do cherish the friendships I have made.
SYR36

What the person looks like on the outside DOES NOT matter to me. It's what's on the inside that's important.I feel if a person can not accept me for who I am, then don't need them as a friend. We also can not judge a person until we know that person personally. Every person is different. If we were all the same just think how boring that would be. We were not created all the same for a reason. All have different interests and our own personalities. You know I have a plaque hanging on my kitchen wall and it goes like this:

If there is righteousness in the heart,
there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.

Now just stop to think about that for a minute. No matter if we are black, white, tall short, skinny or fat, polka dot or stripe, or no matter what religion, who are we to judge anyway. Just think how much better this world would be if we all try to get along and not judge someone just because they may be different than you. I'm sure there will many of you who will resent this post but here again; we all have our own opinion and our own beliefs, but do not judge someone just because they may not agree with you. We,as adults, need to try and make this a better place for our children and grandchildren and all the generations to come. After all, our children learn from us adults.

Guess, I went a bit long here but I feel, lets all try to get along with one another and make this world a better place to live. If we don't do it. WHO WILL????????

Hi there It was lemon juice for me and the freckles-at least that smelled good. Hair as red as a coppeer penny-went grey at 34 I bought lemons by the bushel-cheap then they were. Looks dont count actions do

MzM....OH MAH GOODNESS!!!!!!!!! LOL That was hilarious. Thanks for sharing that. Have to admit though, I liked my freckles even when I was little. And like Nebraska_Jewel said, they make us look younger. :) Now, my children on the other hand, would trade their freckles anyday!

After reading all of these posts, I'm more convinced than ever that my initial feelings about the 'residents' of Dave's Garden were right on target. You folks are the greatest!

Have a happy happy!

Now, I do consider all of you friends. And it's true, I don't care what you look like on the outside. But, by the same token, I don't care to see what you look like on the inside either...all that blood and yucky stuff....not for me!!LOL And I know you guys are good friends, because you all let me hang out here, even though I ran out of deodorant weeks ago!LOL!!

I hope everyone has a great day!!
