Anybody know? I lost the marker.
which morning glory
I don't know which one it is, but it sure is purdy. LOL
Very pretty. I would say it is "Rose Silk" as it doesn't appear to be frilly enough to be "Chocolate Silk".

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but since it's on Rose Silk MG, could someone tell me if they are difficult to germ or just plain difficult. I have many MG's and this particular one seems very difficult for me to get started. The same last year also.
BTW....very pretty MG
I dont know. I have chocolate rose silk and rose silk and it really doesnt look like either. The leaf shape is right and the variagation on the leaves are right. But the size is off and each flower is streaked like this. It does look similar to the rose silk though. Brinda, I planted quite a few rose silks and only a couple came up.
perhaps a cross that occured between rose silk & pink tie dye?
If these were given to you by someone rather then purchased from a reputable company, then odds are they are not pure. Try tying off some blooms to keep them pure & see if they look the same next year. A definite keeper.
Yes, I agree the cross was probally with tie dye...it definately made an interesting specimen!
If that's a cross, I'd say it was a lucky cross. It's a beauty.
Its beautiful!
I thought I would pull this up since I missed it the first time. Did you happen to plant any seed from the Sunsmile Mix? If not then the only other explination is that it is a cross in the Chocolate Silk Seed. That is what I planted and this is some of the offspring......what do yall think. At first I thought it was just a mutation I stumbled on but apperantly someone else stumbled on the same one.... :o)
Dee
Well this was definitly an excellent "mistake"..it's gorgeous! Save the seeds, and if you have extras I would LOVE some. And Brinda,I have terrible luck with rose silk, too.Only one plant survived and it still hasn't bloomed. I would say that Moonlighting and Rylaff have the same Morning glory!
