Not me...dang, maybe the butterfly bush will have my name on it!!
budgie, looks like you left YTRN (Yvonne) off your *remainder* list. She was the first to respond to the offer.
Pen
me :D
Wasn't me
BA are you saying you won? If so, congrats.
Not me......Dang it all
but congrats who ever that lucky person was...
I didn't know they started this on the daylily forum or that I needed permission from Dave. Whoops :(
Whoops, I misspelled the winners email so we'll see if they'll post here after I send them a new email.
Shucks ... was not me!!
Darn wasn't me. Congrats winner
Oh me =0) Thanks! Bugielover~
Oh my gosh it was me!!!!!! I was so surprised this morning when I opened my email and there was a message from CaptMicha.
Just to let you know your not the only one that misspells my name. lol
I'm so excited I've wanted one of these for a long time now. Thank you so much for doing this wonderful give away. Can't wait to get it and plant it. I just got a greenhouse this year so I can over winter it in there.
Thanks
Nancy
Hey, congratulations. I'm sure you will love it.
Gosh Darn, just when we were so close to solving the mystery.
Well the good news is I just checked my snail vine plant. I had laid some of the vines on top of the ground and one has a root. I severed it from mama and potted it up. I will keep it for a week or so to give roots some growth time and then I will put it up for a drawing prize. Keep a lookout next week for a new post for snail vine.
Thanks for the idea Capt. Fun way to share our garden.
Jan...
lol no...Budgie asked if anyone wasn't listed...and I said me, I wasn't on the list. I didnt win unfortunetely :(
I love doing these plant drawings so I'll have more in the future. Just look around for them. I'm always buying new and different plants. I'm also starting some more corkscrew vines....
Capt, how do you start yours. I have tried unsuccessfully for a couple of years to start cuttings. I was so excited last year when one of my cuttings finally took, it bloomed & it was my solid purple! LOL
I start em from seed.
The problem is most companies think that snail vine and corkscrew vine are the same so they use the same names so it makes it very hard to get what you're actually looking for.
Dang it, wasn't me....CONGRATS Santacltr2, you're VERY LUCKY! I've wanted one soooooooo bad!
Hurry with the other starts for another drawing!!!!
i have killed more of these than i can count!!!!!!!!!!!
yes i would like a start from seed
Congrats All!
As you can see my cold zone here, my snail vine or corkscrew vine will not survive.
I have 2-3 of these vines growing in a container.
They were carefully started from seed that I recieved from a fellow DG Member who marked my baggie "Snail Vine" Vigna Caracalla (Phaseolus Caracalla). They are both beautiful - Not sure what this DG Member meant by marking the zip lock this way.
Anyway....
They are young still and have not flowered, approx 3ft. now.
By the end of Aug. I too will have to ship mine off.
I dont have the room indoors to over-winter :(
I have been following this chain, It looks like such fun.
Watch for a post from me in late aug, early sept!

Congrats Nancy!
Hope I don't miss seeing if someone else has a drawing for one of these!
Yvonne
As you can see, there is a difference between:
Snail vine or Phaseolus caracalla: http://plantsdatabase.com/showimage/5202/
and Corkscrew Vine or Vigna caracalla:
http://plantsdatabase.com/showimage/1698/.
It also looks as if some corkscrew pics were submitted as snail vine and vise versa if you go to the main pages.
I hope this helps.
