Sigh...Another Lily that lost its tag. Can anyone help id it please? Thanks! :~)
Another Lily Without A Name...
I think it might be Quo Vidas. There is a photo of that one on B&D Lilies if you want to check it out. Looks lovely.
Susan
casa blanca?
How tall? Oriental?
It's hard to tell with "Aubade", because the linked picture has more of a greenish cast on its petals.
I was also thinking it might be "White Henryi", but that one has more of a yellowish/orange tint to it.
Moby, it is an Oriental Lily about 4 ft. tall.
Shirley - probably a not such a good photo of Aubade....I picked it because it shows the papillae that are present in Aubade and helps distinguish it from others. Here's a link to the Lily Register's description. It also is an Oriental.

White Henryi is more of a yellowish-orange as you said and they mention a "red speckling" of the papillae on it.

Did you find anything out? The Pookie I suggested is 4 feet, oriental, but has very upward facing flowers. Hope you find it!
"Pookie" was an excellent suggestion, but mine does not have upward facing flowers. SIGH........."White Henryi" does have more of a yellowish-orange color on the papilae. "Aubade" is also suppose to have the same up facing flowers, like "Pookie".
BIG SIGH......let's name it "Shirley", but an Asiatic Lily already has that name. I think it may remain nameless.........
Since it refuses to be identified, how about Surly?? LOL
Looks so much like my formerly unidentified that I think it might be 'Golden Elegance' also.
Lilyfan, do you have a picture of "Golden Elegance"? I didn't see it in the DG Plant Database. I'll keep searching on the Web.
Here is a description of "Golden Elegance" that I found surfing the Web.
"Golden Elegance"
"Yellow stripes and maroon freckles enliven these snowy foot-long blooms! One of the noted Elegance series of vigorous, disease-resistant Oriental Lilies, Golden Elegance is pure white with a vivid yellow-gold midrib and dazzling maroon flecks. It is a vigorous, disease-resistant, American-bred Oriental Lily. 4- to 6-foot plants are studded with huge 8- to 12-inch flowers with richly hued petals scattered with darker flecks."
Conclusion: Since mine doesn't have maroon freckles, it can't be "Golden Elegance", but I appreciate your help! :~)

Boo Hoo Hoo Hoo neither does mine, back to the search! I don't really know why I care, they can't read anyway!
How true! But it's the principle of the thing!!! Plus, it's driving me crazy!!!
Like you said...."back to the search"! :~)
Alright, Shirley, I've not given up yet.
How about this one?
Goudband (which I think is Dutch for Goldband)

Thanks Brenda, I greatly appreciate all the effort on behalf of this poor nameless Lily.........but, I think I may have found the answer. Take a look at Oriental Lily, "Double Delight" & tell me what you think. http://www.vanbnursery.com/s/shop/item.asp?catalog=ednieflowerbulb&ssid=1504
Either one could be it I guess!!! I really thought the Goldband was close as the stamens have the same curved shape as the ones on yours.
Maybe you can call your Goldband Double Delight or Double Delight Goldband!! LOL!
YES! I think I will call it "Goldband Double Delight". That's a perfect name for this Lily!
Shirley - you can do as the historic iris folks do and buy one bulb of the cultivar you think it is and grow it out and compare. 'Goldband' is available in the Fall Bulb coop Alice is doing.
when I look at the photos of goldband in the coop offerings they sure do look close!

Thats the one that would get my vote!!
It looks just like my Quo Vidas. I am sure that is what it is. I think lincolnitess is correct.
I'd have to agree with you and Susan.
What about the back side of the blooms? The pic of Quo Vidas seems to be a yellowish color. Do those match Shirley?
