One of my burning bushes has gotten sick. Has lost probably 90% of its leaves - no sign of bug attack nor anything on leaves that are left - These are well established bushes - 6 - 7 feet tall - have been wonderfully healthy and full until this year - have 2 side by side - only one appears sick....
Any ideas or suggestions?
Burning Bush Help
Check the base of the shrub for signs of 'chewing'....mice and other small rodents can do severe damage to hard wood shrubs with small amounts of nibbling.
Pull back any mulch from around the base also, so the citters (if it is they doing this) won't feel so brave. They will be more exposed and less likely to continue to chew.
nope - not rodents - any other suggestions?
Could be an iron deficiency......when is that last time you fertilized the area or plant?
