Question about butterfly bush & columbine

Does anyone know if butterfly bush Nanho Purple or Ile De France will come true from seed?

Also, has anyone grown columbine Nora Barlow from seed? I collected some earlier and after 16 days they have not sprouted. They are surface sown and kept moist. I have read on 1 site that they should be frozen for 5-7 days first, but have not seen this info anywhere else.

Sometimes columbines do benifit from a cold spell. If you can stick your tray in a plastic bag and refrigerate for a few weeks it might help.
