dream turns to nightmare in Alaska

What started out as a dream come true has turned to worse than a nightmare.
While flying home from a fishing trip my dear Homer (greenwood) had a masssive heart attack & is gone. I can't believe it but it is so true.
His son is flying to Alaska today or tomorrow I'm not sure which & go back to FL with me.
I know at least this last 3 weeks were very happy weeks for him & he died doing what he loved to do... flying & fishing.. He even got to fly the plane some.
He wanted to be creamated so we will have that done here.
I'm not sure when I'll be back on but I will be in as soon as I can.
I know I will find the srtenghth to go on somehow.. I know he would want me to.

Oh my. I so not know what to say. I am so sorry. What a tragedy. I will keep you in my thoughts. Take care of yourself in the days ahead.

I am so sorry to hear this. Try to remember all the good things. My dad had a massive heart attack 20 years ago and my only consolation then was he did not linger and suffer. He would have hated being an invalid as he was very outgoing and funloving. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Sugar, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know from experience that losing someone dear to you is devistating, but there is comfort in knowing they were doing something that meant a great deal to them. I hope you will remember Alaska and its beauty in a loving way, though I understand why you may not be able to do so. I still look forward to meeting you one day. Bless your heart.

I have read what all the others have said and it is almost impossible to not be repeating them. They have really said everything that I was thinking as I read down the posts. None of us ever knows how we will handle such a situation and I think of such things daily as I look at my darling husband of almost 51 years. (This August) I have always told him that I think that the one of us who goes first will be the lucky one because of the lonliness the other will experience. The one of us remaining WILL lean on the Lord and be comforted by Him and by all of the wonderful memories that we have had together. Hold tight to His hand and don't let go for even a moment and He will lead you safely through the dark valley that you now travel.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you ever need somebody to talk to please just give me a yell. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
