Suzanne is a big girl!
Suzanne is wonderful!!
Bonnie
What a pretty plant. Sorry your plant got sick kell. Are they starting to get better now?
Wow ... beautiful. Great photos!!
Great feet Trace!
LOL
Thanks for asking Kristi, some have rebounded and some have not. They better shape up soon for my DH is going to be taking care of them for a month. It will be only the survival of the fittest! LOL The ones that did not wilt had lost most of their leaves. They really really didn't like the stuff.
The worst thing is that I had almost a full garbage can of it. I left the cover on but tons of little flies hatched inside. So when you opened it it was truly gross. My DH dragged it to the corner of t e yard and dumped it. I have my Crape Myrtles planted there. I sure hope they live. I need to go dig out the trunks. They are buried in a hard crust.
I will use the alfalfa on my roses with no molasses and yeast, just fish emulsion and magnesium. My roses love it I have decided.
Oh my Kell that man loves you! Scott would still be talking ugly to me...
Trace, when I am away please call him and remind hiim of that. It might encourage him to be kind to my babies. My biggest fear is to come home to all dried up plants.
Here is Suzanne at my house. She is really full of blooms tonight. My girls have been walking around the yard sticking their noses in blooms and then telling me what they smell like. I finally told them to pick a bloom and bring it with them and sit on the deck to keep me company. I really like Suzanne. So far she has only shown me good qualities.
WOW Brugie! That is a pink brug. Just lovely! Pollinate well so I can get some of her seeds. I won't get a pod I do not think for quite awhile.
Shirley that is just beautiful! I'm still in brug lust over this one! Dang...so many beautiful new brugs now. What is a girl to do???
Get them all Brinda lol!
I'm thinking about tossing a bunch of my old ones so I will have room for my new ones! I never thought I'd do that.
Brugie, your plant is loaded with flowers and it's gorgeous!
Oh Susie!! How do you decide what will go?? What a decision to make. You can toss them to Colorado if you want! ;o)
Beautiful picture Shirley!
Shelly, I'm tossing Maidera, Sun Kissed, Spring Peach, Insignis Gold, Evelasting, Rosa uberraschung and some seedlings from last year that haven't performed as well as I'd hoped. There may be more varieties that have to go, but I need the room! I've worked too hard to improve the garden soil for it to be taken up with brugs I'm not crazy about!
They are nice big plants, but it might be a bit expensive to ship them, so come to TExas, bring a truck and we'll fix you up.
I understand about needing the room! Gosh what a decision tho.
Altho, you have some amazing ones out there that you hybridized, and new ones coming in almost everyday, so... I supose it wouldnt be too hard.
Yeah no, please dont send me trees! LOL I may come visit someday, but they brugs will stay down there, where they perform well.
LOL Monika....do you really think it is possible to 'get them all'? I'd surely have to quit my job and go into full time brug growing! Oh...now doesn't that sound like a horrible way to spend ones day? LOL
I'm still in love with Suzanne....you both did a great job!
I don't know how you all do it.. My plants are not doing as well as I would like, when I get some blooms, I will post them. The grandchildren left this past weekend (after being here for two months), but not until my 7 yo GD broke her arm in two places last weekend.. then my hubby dislocated his shoulder this Sat night while in his sleep (if you can imagine that).
Back to brugs, How does Suzanne perform in the heat and full sun? Alot of mine need lots of shade here because of the 110 and above heat, right now that the temps went down, they seem to be recuperating some.
I reallly like the color on this one.
Suzanne was in full sun with a few days in the low nineties and did just fine. I moved her into the shade because I wanted to make sure the blooms would last well for my girls to see. You should have seen those two. They had their cameras and would walk from one to another taking pictures and then back again and the conversation was always about which one smelled the best. Susanne wasn't near all the others and when I asked if they saw her......well, I can't say what they said, but it translates to "she is one awesome brug".
lolol sounds like you had a great visit Shirley.
Its good to know she holds up well in the sun and heat.
Kell, I hate to ask but how many different types of brugs do you have ? Do you even know :)
charlotte
Cala....would you send cuttings for postage? Unfortunately I am burning up most of my vacation this year to go up north, otherwise I would make the trip down south to see you....might still.
I will send you some extra Kris, if you can just hang in there for a bit.
Shelly, how much out of the way are you from Texas to North Dakota?
lol a little west, and right in the middle. :o)
That is a beauty...both in color and size of blooms!
Kris, why don't you go ahead and make plans to go Shelly's direction. I'm pretty sure that Jim's eye surgery is going to mess up your plans to stop by our house. We can always meet another time. Your choice, but I may still have to cancel on you when we get more info from the DR.
I understand, Brugie
Thanks. I don't want you to make plans for here and then have to change directions in mid stream. Could really mess up some motel reservations.
No, I will be coming straight home without stopping anywhere. I thought this would be a good opportunity to meet some of the people from here, but I guess thats not going to happen.
Oh Charlotte, enough to make me certifiably nuts! Esp since now I have so many seedlings! It is a disease I tell you!
I wonder how many of us have had collections in the past. I wonder if it is a brain spasm that causes this. A brain that keeps repeating and never realizes when you have enough. I know I have the collectors' mentality. In the past I have had vaste collections. Now I am totally immersed in brugs!
I'll still let you know what I find out. He goes to the eye doctor tomorrow.
i use to collect stickers and stamps. but they didn't grow and make babies. lol.
so did it get any darker? i'm kind of bummed out about the pink brugs that i see photos of where the color is dark and saturated but here in california i get much paler pinks. we need more seedlings grown in california!
