First night open

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Monika,we will see what it looks like tonight,it is 90º here right now.
Susie take this heat back!!!
Was that me complaining it was to cool?? LOL, how soon we forget!
One thing I am noticing is,this will be a tough one to pull pollen from, inside of the bloom rides high in the tube, gotta get the Hemos out.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Brugie, would you like to try it a little farther south? Gets plenty hot here.

Root, it is a real beauty. Take good care of it. Yall are doin' good.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Root, you mentioned hemostats. I received a wonderful pair(?) from eBay, for $5.10 and they are curved. The guy said he had more, they are super!! SherryLike

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I think she is just beautiful!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

She's beautiful, Root. Looks like a keeper to me.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh she is nowhere near the compost pile, this one is a keeper, for scent alone,it has a nice Euro smell, the color is great,a little hard to get pollen,it did not seem fluffy, and was far up the tube,I did get enough to introduce her to Species tonight,I hope it takes.
I squeezed the old bloom and I think I had a pod forming from the Trop Sun cross. ;0)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Well we have the heat here today, she is hanging limp, but seems to be a little redder on the second bloom.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Don't like to hear that she is limp in the heat. Maybe she will need more shade. Mine gets just noon sun, so we will see what happens with her when she decides she wants to grace me with a bloom or two.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

This is the first real hot day in some time, she will perk up soon.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Very nice Root......

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks CC, I thought you were hitting the Lake?? How was it?

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)

Beautiful and a great scent, I love it! I hope it can withstand the heat and has lots of blooms. Good luck with it!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

She's beautiful Root. Very nice color. I'm so glad we are finally getting some darker pinks.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It was great!

I'm a little burned and a little tipsy

but happy!!!!!!

Its one of the first time in a year or so that I actually relaxed and didn't think about all the stuff I have to do
It was sunny ,80,nice breeze.....

stopped at one of the riverfront bars
ate dinner on the deck......
The boat is at the dock.....just waiting for me to jump in it.....
maybe tomorrow.......

but I have too much to do....

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Make time to play CC!! You work to hard, enjoy the Lake, don't make me pull up some of those Snow threads to remind you!

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Congrats Root - it's a beauty!.....

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Hmmmmmmmmm, what part of your yard is the compost pile I need that brug.... I mean some compost, yeah that is what I meant, compost.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

It gets better every nite!

and what is the thing growing in the background,I like the leaves

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Now I'm starting to think she is a keeper, whether she wilts in the heat or not. Sure glad I have big shade trees. LOL! Looking good Bob.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Root. Love the color. Like CC, I want to know what's growing in the background.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL, Karen I had to look twice! I thought for a minute there, someone had messed up! Incase he doesn't go look, thank you Bob!

Cool VooDoo. I love the speckled trunk. Bob is supposed to be bringing mine tomorrow. Jim will kill me next spring when it blooms. I might have to heat the greenhouse just for the VooDoo.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Is that what the big horse turd grows up to be?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

ROTFLAO Yep that is the horse turd! Now I have heard it called everything, one of the girls at the greenhouse said it looked like a big pile of dried cow poo before planting, and another person said it looked like a very sick dried up brain.

Shirley I love it so far, the foliage is very soft.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm excited. How long have you had yours planted? My little one hasn't done anything to speak of and I pulled it out of the pot and a shoot is coming up from the bottom side of the pot...like maybe it will be another bulb or something. I have no idea, but when Doc is here tomorrow, he can look at it.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

About two months, I started mine before Mom went in the hospital. I can't wait till it branches out like his picture in the tropicals forum.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

It is a Cypress vine,Shirley, your VooDoo is not that big,it has roots coming out all over the pot,it will be there tomorrow.
Tracey yours look great! Thank AnnaZ,I was just the middle man on these,LOL! You all have been warned on the bloom!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Gosh! She is looking so bright!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Root, your blooms are beautiful and I love a wonderful scent. No doubt you will put something special on her and then you will have great seeds.

Tracey, why does everything grow faster and taller for you?? Mine is nowhere near that size. You just have the magic touch with everything that you grow.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Looking just wonderful Doc!

Whitewater, WI

Root, it is soooooooooo beautiful!!!!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Would you look at that!! Beautiful Root!!!!!!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Wow, Oh Wow RD!!! I just hate being away and playing catch-up! And look what I have missed this week! She is a beauty! Well done!!!!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

How come Root sends me nice living plants but never shows up with death smelling, nasty lookiung stuff? :)

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Root, Great pictures and such a pretty bloom. I have not been around very much this past week, had company and was out of town for the hottest day we had. had a doctors appoint. 130 miles away, 102 degrees all the way! My brugs were wilty when i got back home. Yours is lovely and I'm sure from your pix it will get several stars from you. Donna

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I am in love with the last picture of First Night. I want her!!! I love the stinky voodoo also!

I just have one question, how are we going to fit all these new brugs in our yards?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Michele, he brought me my voodoo lily today. I can't wait for it to shoot the foliage up, but I'm a little concerned about my marriage when the bloom appears next year.
