mini roundup in Germany

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Four davesgarden and allegras-foren members met this weekend to have a mini roundup in my garden. From left to right are: Uli, monika, allegra and Gwist. They had arrived yesterday afternoon and have left this afternoon. We had a wonderful time together. It was a great pleasure for me to meet Gwist and Uli in person. All three have a great sense of humor and we had many laughs together. But we also talked about Brugmansias lol!
These are the only pictures I was able to make lol

Hi Gwist! Hi Allegra!! Hi Uli!! Hi Monika!! There is not a nicer group of people!

Next time maybe we all will be there also!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Wonderful! So this is the famous BoF and Ingrid. Gwist looks great as usual and I'm jealous as all get out over those big newspapers they're carrying.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Liz, do you think they would allow us to bring those newspapers on the plane if we were to visit? LOL! I'm so glad you all had such a great time. Everyone looks like they had a great time and I'll bet there is some planting going on right now.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I didn't notice those *newspapers* the first time....very, very, lucky people!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Yeah,its just reading material,LOL

Its so good to then all and glad you had a good visit....

wonder how much a plane ticket is........

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL! Liz, this is not BoF. Uli has the same name as allegras husband. BoF had to stay home and take care of all the plants lol.

I am sure everyone had a great time. Love those newspapers.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Looks like you had a great time!!
I am glad you got a chance to talk Brugs,it looks like it was a very nice day!!

Great picture of all of you. I know everyone had a great time and it is good to be able to put a name with a face. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Biel, Switzerland(Zone 7a)

Well,I had a wonderful time,Monika, but I've only had time last night to check those lovely plants, and fall into bed, lol.
We were absolutely spoiled by Monika and Frank, and well,I was in awe when I saw the plants and the gardens. A lot of love and care is invested in Monika and Franks' garden, and we see this everytime she posts yet another gorgeous picture for us. I am one happy camper,Kell! I had lost a lot of Brugs when my neighbor took care of them while I was in the US,but I found some very exciting stuff at Monika's.I finally have Mobisu and Grazie, and I can't wait to see how they do in my garden!!Once again ,thanks Monika and Frank for welcoming us into your home.I have learned a lot in the last two days and it was heaven walking under those Brug trees.
Delecie,Ramstein is about 2 or 3 hours west of Monika and it is a city onto itself.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Gwist! You need to visit more here on Dave's. We miss you!

Biel, Switzerland(Zone 7a)

Hi Kell! I miss everyone, too, but I have been too tired to do more than check and delete e-mails.I was amazed at the amounts of work that was waiting for me when I returned, but I am almost finished(after 2 months, lol)and I think that bout of pneumonia had knocked me out.The old gray mare just ain't what she used to be!I also just lost my cat to what I believe was a fox attack,so I haven't been such a happy camper lately...until yesterday,of course, lol.

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Gwist:

I'm sorry about your cat :-( and thank-you for the information about Ramstein. My son will be stationed there towards the end of this year and during his tour there I'd like to visit him if I can fit a vacation into my schedule. If I can get there, I'd love to visit Monika and Frank.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

How very nice for you all to have gotten together. Hello Gwist.. (waving madly) I'm sure that they were treated to a wonderful day admiring your gardens, Monika.. wished I was there too!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hi Gwist. I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your cat. Pets are a part of our families and it is hard to deal with their loss. I am glad that your time with Monika, Frank, and friends was so rewarding. Monika has such knowledge to share. I wish I could be there sitting under a brug or two and talking about them. You look great in your pictures and that smile on your face pretty much tells the story. Don't work too hard. Hope to see you soon, here and there...LOL!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you all for your nice comments.
We had a wonderful time together and it would have been nice to have all my davesgarden friends here also.
Gwist, allegra plans another visit in the summer, when the brugs are in full bloom and you sure will be welcome to visit us again and we will look forward to it.
And you all will be welcome in our little garden.

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Thanks for sharing your photos, Monika. I know everyone was very happy with their "NEWSPAPERS".

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Gwist, I'm so sorry you lost your cat. It's so hard when we lose a pet. I envy you getting to visit with Monika and Frank. I know you all had a wonderful time.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I hope you are feeling much better now Gwist. Too sad about your kitty. I would be crushed. Glad to hear Monika fixed you up with some special brugs to cheer you up.

I was so surprised to hear on the rose forum that you were visiting with Lousia awhile back. You sure get around. You saw Tonny and also Padre didn't you? I bet you have had such fun!

Speaking of Padre, anyone hear from him lately? I hope he is doing well.

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Sorry to hear about the loss of your cat, Gwist. I don't visit this forum that often but like to look at all the happy faces.
Gardening puts everyone close to nature and that has a way of brightening even the saddest feelings.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sounds like such a fun time....

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but I've been wondering about Padre for the past month or so. I think of him everytime I pass by a brug that he sent me. I sure hope everything is going well for him. He travels a lot, doesn't he?

Gwist, sorry about your kitty! Stay well and go back to Monika's for another visit soon! We love the pics!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Looks like you all had a great time. You're so lucky to be able to meet each other. It would be a dream come true to have a chance to visit Monika!

Sorry to hear about your cat, Gwist. How sad. I'm surprised a fox would attack a cat. That worries me... I've seen a fox out in our field here.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I heard from Padre a couple of weeks ago and he was going vacationing to Germany and several other places and said he was going to work on his tan.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I'm so glad you were all able to get together. It is so nice to be able to meet people you have spent many hours chatting with.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

*bump* Just for fun
