Brugmansia sanguinea - "Scarlet"

San Jose, CA

i was looking at annie's annuals web site and they have a brugmansia sanguinea listed with a common name of “Scarlet Angel’s Trumpet”. i wonder if someone took the 'Scarlet' name from that or misinterpreted a label.

Yep, she's a beauty!!!!

Don't want to put the kabosh on Ms Scarlet......what is it with her? She always wants to bloom when it's in the mid 90's.

She has two more buds, after suffering from a bad case of teenage acne or more likely an attack of rust of some sort.

I'm just tip-toeing around her and pretending not to notice anything, you know how teenagers with pimples can be. :-)

Good for you! Can't wait to see the bloom.

The July buds fried in the heat, but she's still hanging on and producing a few more buds. Not a pretty plant, but she still gets an 'A' for her steadfast attitude.

Holey-Moley Candy , That is a beautiful bloom .So very different from mine , almost all yellow/gold with a red blush around the bottom.

Happy for you that you got some to open up and I hope get you more.

Oh, those are so pretty. I grew 5 from seed and the last one melted in July.

My 'Inca Princess' is plain yellow, just went out and checked to make sure and there is no hint of a blush on them.

Hi Bob -

I'm still nursing a couple of cuttings from last winter. They just haven't taken off like most of the others.....still hoping that they are putting lots of effort into a good root system to get them through the winter and that next spring they will become giants! :-)
