I am excited!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

I am excited. I have never had blooms this early in the summer and never thought I would have one with this many blooms at once. Everybody post theirs loaded with blooms but I have never had more than at few at a time. So I am thrilled. I got buds on about 6 different ones now so I will have blooms all summer. Instead of just at the end of summer when it's about time to bring them back in. Now if the dang seedlings would start blooming I would be a real happy camper. lol

Peggy, is that whiskers? Beautiful plant. Missed you!!!!!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

The high heat of summer will keep certain species of brugs from blooming till the cool evenings of fall. Suaveolens and its hybrids will bloom in the summer heat because this species originated in Eastern Brazil..in the tropics...most other species of brugs are mountain dwellers...warm days..cool nights.Versicolor, candidas, and sanquineas are in this group..they like cool nights so they bloom late in the season or very early in the season if the tree already has a Y on it.

Everything at Peggy's is gorgeous!! This brug was absolutely covered with buds when I was there Sunday. I am sure she will have lots of secrets up her sleeve this summer. She has been working her buns off in her gardens and it is really obvious! Even her grass looks great. LOL

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Mystic, your brug is beautiful and so healthy, I love the way it's growing!!

Eclipse, I'm so glad I read your post, which I already suspected, re the heat and blooming. That means that I'm really going to be careful about my brug selections & I really hope the ones I've selected will continue to bloom.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Mystic your brug tree looks gorgeous. I have buds on several now, but our weather is so cold, 38 degrees this morning, which is why I am at the computer. I am sure the brugs are not too happy with that temp, and neither are the tomatoes, but the lettuce loves it!!!!!!!!!!! Donna

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

VERY pretty! Love that color. It's so nice to have blooms early.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Thanks again everybody. All the storms have sure played havoc on them but AL has been uprooted and turned over 3 times already and doesn't seem to phase her a bit. lol I finally got her truned a different way and put a big rock in the top of the pot to hold her up. Knightii is blooming now has 4 or 5 blooms. I was so proud they all looked nice and green, but with all the rains and storms now they are getting that pale feed me look. lol Chele thank you for the compliments on the garden heck , I have seen some of these folks gardens mine are nothing compared to them. Poppysue more pictures of what brugs or daylilies? lol

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Peggy, Antique Lace is one of my favorites and I hope mine grows up one day to be just like yours. I am so happy for you that you are getting blooms now. Also, I think you have a beautiful place. . . I remember pictures from last year. We all missed you not being at Roz's.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Did I tell you that the gator ate my AL??

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

You see mine right now, it has tiny, tiny blooms 4" or less... Loaded... Susie I have a couple for you, just whoop that gator if it gets near it, I hear them Texas gators like pork.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The gator ate a BRUG????

doesn't that worry you...a gator hallucinating in your back yard???

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Only if she oink's

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Ah CC, it's okay. I fed him a sandwich(not chicken though).
Yeah Tracey, they like BBQ, lol. I think the brug made him a little happy, he was chasing the neighbor. He thought she was a girl gator! Last I saw him, he was wearing a brug bloom like a party hat, looking for some pork ribs!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Susie I can start ya one. But it sounds like it might draw gators you might not want it. lol

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Aw you're sweet Peggy. I haven't seen the gator in a few weeks. I think he's over at the neighbors and I hope he stays there!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I hope he does too!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)
