To change your name.. or..

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

The name thread gave me an idea.
My subscription is about up and was thinking about a name change. Don't know if I will or not, lol.

Any suggestions for my new name?
Would you change your DG name? Have you?
Do tell!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I heard you could change your name once, but not sure if that is true or not. I have thought about it, as most people have such neat names, and mine is, well, just me! But I think those who have got to know me with this name might have a hard time remembering who I am with a new one, so at this point, I've opted not to.

BTW - I like your name!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Crims, you can't change your name, you would never answer when spoken to. You have not answered me when I addressed you by Jocelyn on occasion, but you always answer to Crims. LOL

:^)))
Molly

Elizabethton, TN(Zone 7a)

Molly's right, but even if you could adjust, I wouldn't be able to adjust.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL! Okay, no name change. It IS sad when I answer to my chat name more than my given name! LOL
Thanks guys!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

when justmelisa joined many moons ago I thought about changing mine to-Dori, but then i really like my garden name!

***notmartha can show you how to create the best "junk"drawer around-I could pull out anything "monty hall" wants!!!

no change here! It is only a one time change thing here at daves! so if you want to change it think it through!!!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I had mine changed shortly after i joined. Origianally it was MsJen, and alot of people thought it was "miss Jen" but it was really supposed to be Mississippi (MS) jen, so Dave changed it from MsJen to MSJen.....didnt make much differance, peeps still think is Miss Jen, lol

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Why when she joined Martha? I'm confuzzled.
lol Jen. I thought yours was Ms Jen too!
Thinks I'll keep mine like it is. It's nice being called Crimson or CT. :-)

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Mine is the same as our internet name and fits me at least just fine. We came up with it because we takes several truckloads of leaves from a nearby town each fall.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh leaf mulch! Isnt it the greatest? Yours is a good name!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Yours is very unique and I love it....I wouldn't even think twice about changing it crimsontsavo. Plus we can shorten it all kinds of ways!! tsavo is my fav. when I'm in a rush! :)

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks lily! it will stay the same then! :-)
Lilypon is really pretty and feminine!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thanks tsavo! :) I think yours is an exotic and a strong sounding name .... perfect for young lady!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

oooh nooooo Don't be changing names on me, I'm just beginning to put collages of you all together from your posts Dont make it harder.

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

If I changed mine to something else, I wouldn't be able to remember the new name. That's why I chose my own name. Your own name is apparently the very last piece of information you lose in dementia, so I want to be prepared!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

LOL @ Judith.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I thought about changing mine at one time but have gotten so used to it now that nothing else sounds right. Besides, there are so many Brendas out there that I would have to have a 3 digit number after it!

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

crims, thanks for asking that question to Dori. I was wondering that same :-)....

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

because Lisa was "Lisa" and we knew it-I was Notmartha and no one knew i was "dori" they all call me "martha" so I thought about being "dori" or justmedori!!!!!!!!
You see now!!!
(martha was my dads first wifes name and it use to bug me-over that now)

But I likes NOTmartha-why do yall call me martha though, when it says NOT??? LOL

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

I like my name altho some have thought I was a guy, thats ok too for when I used to go into regular chat rooms and didnt care if anyone knew my gender or not. It was fun to keep em guessin'.
Plus I feel young and cool again when TC calls me Dcat. LOL. I like it when someone gives a nickname to a screenname, it makes it feel more like old friends hangin out.
So dont change your name Crims!!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL JUDITH!! Oh man, we could ALL be related! K, gotta jet, work calls!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Janet, I thought it was me who started the Dcat nickname... months ago.

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

darius it probrably was actualy. Im sorry, oldtimers has already kicked in.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL, Oldtimers runs rampant here!

I DO remember sending you an email right after you joined... something yuo said about "Shade and Sweet Water" if I remember correctly, then seeing you shortly thereafter in Chat, Couldn't type "Dravencat" quick enough. LOL!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

LOL, that was me. You remembered.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Yep, I did!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Dori - I thought you were "notmartha" because you were referring to not being Martha Stewart!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

notmartha - thought your name was more of a not Martha Stewart type joke.

ps: oh that WAS funny two posts with the same thought.
Wanted to add I like being 'Blooms'.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

As long as you aren't called Bloomers.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

it was a NOTmartha stewart joke!!!

i just said that my dads first wifes name was martha! I just always thought of dads wife when everyone called me martha!!! I didnt even know her! ;)

ya'll are getting me confused!!!

Mesilla Park, NM

You all are making me laugh.. I thought it was a NotMartha Stewart joke too..lol.

I always think about changing mine too, but it has been with me on several sites now for 4 years and I probably wouldn't be able to adjust. Someone asked me if it was my real name. Oh well.. I wasn't thinking when I picked it. I needed help in growing Gourds and couldn't think of another name at the time.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

yes the day i found davesgarden "martha" was getting a potting shed added to her grounds-for her show, that was the last day i watched!!!

when i came to davesgarden i was wanting my own potting shed ;) so it was either NOTmartha or martha martha martha, it was easier to type NOTmartha!!! ;)
and i really am glad i stuck with the name-knowing ya'll smile when you see it! :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

There was a thread a few months ago, not sure which forum, about "garden signs". I really liked the one "Martha doesn't garden here."

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i have that one! :)

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I WANT that one! :)

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Why not make that one? LOL

I like my internet name. I really do have a disease of loving ponds thus Pond with an itch-itch. I can't pass by a pond without wanting to stop and look at all the neat plants and the fish and the frogs and the well---you get the idea!

Tsavo, what would I do if you ever changed your name? Once this getting older brain finally learns a name you don't DARE change it or I might just call you George or Ringo or Paul or John and that could be a real problem because then you would be a Beetle and eat your garden up!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL POND!!!!!

I am the same way with ponds! I'm always sticking my hands into something wet, smelly and mushy! ALways something new to examine and grow! LOL

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

Wet, smelly, and mushy????? Yuck! Reminds me of baby diapers!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Wet, smelly and mushy is my style too! We were talking at the water garden plant sale the other day and many of us were agreeing that our ponds and gardens are a way for us as adults to play in the mud and dirt and just get really dirty including under our nails without society looking down on us!!!!! LOL

Tallahassee, FL(Zone 8b)

We can do that in FL, without even having ponds! All the rain and humidity keep soil pretty damp and gooey at times.

I learned today not to squat down to check the plants in wet weather. I can't get back up without pushing with my hands on the ground. Ewwwwww!

Either that, or lie down and roll over on my tummy, so I have arms and legs to assist me. Squatting or lying on my back, I'm like a dead bug, toes up! LOL
