I planted this tree last year and it is dying. I removed the mulch from around the tree and was told to water it every other day with 30 gallons of water. This seems to much. Does anyone know how to take care of this tree. It is an evergreen and I thought evergreens did not need that much water.

My experience is with only one I planted for my mother. First question is what is your elevation? They don't grow above 3,000 feet.
30 gallons seems excessive. I never watered hers more than 3-5 gallons until it was established. You may be drowning it.
The elevation is fine. The greenhouse is the one who told me to water the tree 30 gallons every other day. You said you watered your tree 3-5 gallons until the tree was established. How long was this time period?
Mitzie, I planted it somewhere around June and left the area in late September or early October. It was on it's own after that.
