Next question.....where would one find this one next spring? I'm sure this can't be a WalMart canna. I'm going to be checking for places to purchase, but right now a lot of places don't have canna's listed. Maybe some of you could put up your favorite places to purchase rhizomes. One of mine is Horn Canna Farms. OMG, I just checked and they have it.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

This was one of my favorite last year! Even the leaves are variable!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Brugie, I got mine at Horns. the quality is superb.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Woooweee! Such a beauty!!
oh MAN!! Thanks for the link SHIRLEY!!!!!!!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Brugie....one of the men who work for me lives a few miles from Horn Canna Farm and brought me some huge rhizomes from them. I couldn't believe how huge they were and Cleopatra was one of them. Mine is up around 12" now and I'm really excited to see it bloom. Originally I got it for the foliage, but now I'm really ready to see a bloom.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I've ordered from them before and was totally happy with what I got. Next year, I'll have to order again.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY I am jealous.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

I like to buy my cannas from eflowergarden.com. They have a good selection and incredible prices. I received an email from them recently asking what I would like to see on next Spring's list. I just emailed back and asked them for Cleopatra.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Lisa-stunning. Great photo also. Where did you order it?

Mesilla Park, NM

Brugie, I have several extras if you would like some.. just let me know when it is a good time to send them, I also have others, so before you order, send me your list. Antoinette

Clare, I sent you a couple of rhizomes in the box that went out a couple of days ago.. SURPRISE.. A

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, Antoinette, you are soooooo sweet. Thank you so much! They will be planted with the others that you sent me. The red-leafed one is about to bloom:

I want the first rooting that comes off that beauty. Almost as pretty as the owner. No it isn't even close even though it is pretty.

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

I too purchased from Horn's and was truly impressed. Cleopatra is also my favorite, not just for the gorgeous and unpredictable flowers, but also for the unexpected striping on the foliage that can give you a hint of what the flower will look like.

Antoinette, maybe this fall I'll have something you will need???? Thanks so much for your offer. I love Cleo and Lucifer.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Antoinette, the red-leaved canna that I grew from the seeds you sent me last year has bloomed. Do you recognize what it could be? Or is it a hybrid?

Valley Village, CA

Wow you gals sure opened up my eyes. I don't grow them my self my my friends do. I will tell them about Horns, and Cleopatra, thank you for let me join in for just a moment. Norma

Gilmer, TX

Clare, that looks like my really tall one. 6 to 8 ft., and the resident canna expert told me it was 'Intrigue'.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

no it isnt Intrigue the leaves on this one are too wide to be Intrigue .more like red stipe canna.Intrigue has darker narrow leaves and blooms peach.....

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Is the tall, dark stranger possibly Red King Humbert?

P.S. You guys spelled Fremont wrong ;-}

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, everyone. Antoinette very kindly sent me these seeds last winter so we've decided that I have both the red-striped hybrid and an Intrigue hybrid. Here's the Intrigue hybrid with the narrow, pointed leaves:

Here is the red-striped hybrid, which possibly crossed with Intrigue:

Antoinette sent me three of her Cleopatra plants, and I am so excited because I just love the colors. Thanks, Antoinette!

Here is another one that is from seed that Antoinette sent me. I think it is a Robert Kemp hybrid:
