Get 20' sections of REBAR and "plant" the ends in the ground forming huge upside down "u"s. First: pound short piece of conduit pipe in the ground, 18"L, then another about 8 feet away (may vary) Put the rebar into the conduit to form the "U". Repeat to make qwanset hut shape You may try joining two 20' sections to make 40' if you need a larger gh?? Then simply cover with nylon impregnated plastic. It is translucent and NOT clear so it diffuses sunlight and is much stronger. Make any size. The q hut shape is very wind-stable and CHEAP! Paint the rebar w/ white rust-o-leum first. Cut strips off fabric edge and wedge between to protect cover where it meets the rebar. GL and keep me posted.

moretz...you should subscribe to the NC Agricultural Review. It's free. (Can also read it online now!)

It is mainly classifieds selling farm related stuff from tools to tractors, implements, animals, plants, seeds, etc. I've seen greenhouses in there before, usually the "you pick up" types.

I'll find the link and post it here for you. (You can also run ads in it, free...so maybe you could post in it for a g-house, eh?)

We just made a deal for a 25' X 60'. Only the frame, which is the hardest to come by. Everything else can be built by us.
Almost ashamed to say what we paid. $500, & not cash, but a trade for some carpenter work. This is a very heavy built greenhouse. It was constructed by a school & then never used. I'm not sure which company produced it, but surely it is from major manufacturer.
I once ran an add in a newspaper in Minneapolis for a greenhouse. I got 2 responses. Neither one worked out, but I was surprised to get the calls.
You never know where they are or what is for sale.
There was a nice house for sale on a farm auction this spring. I did not attend, as I had the deal going for the one I got.
A friend of ours, 6 or 8 years ago, bought a hoop house at a supermarket auction for $7.00.
Another place to check is real estate people. They may have property for sale that would sell better without the greenhouse on it. You may get one for removing it!
This greenhouse in this picture we bought for half the original price, then they threw in all the benches, numerous fans, computer controls for fans & watering, hundreds of feet of drip hose & tubes. Probably got $4 worth for each dollor we spent. Also included were about 100 cement blocks that are now the foundation of our house addition!

I got instructions a couple years ago from someone here at DG but I have never taken the time to build it. Here is the discription I can email you the plans if it sounds like something you might want to look at:

"This greenhouse can easily be built inexpensively in several hours using simple hand tools and materials available at most building supply stores. These are plans and instructions' for an easily constructed greenhouse that will cost less than $100 and may be used for many purposes. It measures 12 feet by 14 feet (168 square feet)it’s small enough to be unobtrusive but large enough to meet the needs of the serious grower."

Might be a bit more then 100.00 now this was originally sent to me in 2001

We built a greenhouse three years ago based on the Snapclamp plans (I expanded it to 10x12 instead of 6x9), and I'm planning to either build a replacement (using 1.5" PVC this time) or buy a kit with the rigid polycarb walls.

The original cost us roughly $150, including two wood screen doors, rather than building the door per the frame and enough 6 mil UV-rated plastic to cover it 2-3 times (it was cheaper than buying the exact amount I needed.)

Here are some construction pictures from the first time around: http://davesgarden.com/ej/viewentry.php?rid=11221

Mine isn't big, but the 8x10 my dh brought me last week as a surprise, was very much appreciated....it cost us $50 for the wrecker to move it...and a new fan, but good news is that all the electric is pre-wired through conduit, it has some basic shelving until I can do better, and the fan was removed, but the louvers are still there....and the door is 36" wide and has rubber seals on it. I felt pretty special....
