That's a neat one, Don. I think this one has flowers like my Ipomoea cairca vine, right?

Yes similar, the one I got from that was doing so well, fell over on the driveway on a very hot day and fried the vine, but it's making a comeback, did the one I sent you,do ok?

Uh, actually I never was able to get that cutting to root, but that's okay because the Ipomoea cairca flowers are pretty close. Have you seen Ipomoea Platense? It's pretty cool-looking. Logee's has it: http://www.logees.com/store/

Cool, notice the wide leaves then they change to the narrow leaves, the flowers petals are rounded individually, and look somewhat ruffley, and I think a deeper cooler as well, very pretty.

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh, I love morning glories, but you guys are making me agonize here..lol. That is beautiful.. now I have to check logees out..lol..

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, Antoinette! I agree that it is beautiful. I just love the fat base. It reminds me of an Adenium.

Don, I didn't notice that about the leaves until you mentioned it. Very neat! I hear that this plant produces bulbous-like runners from the top branching structure that you can clip off and make new plants from.

Here's another picture I found on the web:

I don't know, Don. That's a good question. Probably at least a couple.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

I know how you feel. I get home and the flowers are gone , the morning glories in the heat are the worst. That is why I love to get that this is the peak look of the flower. I guess it saves it forever for me.I like the creating part of gardening, I must learn the cutting and rooting end out it!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

I had a water lilly last week, white with a yellar center,I'd come home and it was always about 2/3 closed everytime!
Darn it!!!
Monterey, its in the misting and the humidity, when you get those two right cuttings seem to take root!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Two open this morning, but it being 7ft tall, couldn't get a good shot at it.

I have the morning glory bush in 3 colors white, light lavender and a deep lavender /pink

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

I have I.platense and it has a great big fat caudex on it. It blooms for me every summer but is growing up to the ceiling of the greenhouse & I can't seem to find the runners where you can take cuttings. Also, I'd like to repot it as the soil dries out so fast, but I don't want to rot it. Any ideas on how I can keep it under control so I don't need a step ladder to see the blossoms?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Buttoneer, I don't have I. platense so I can't help you with your questions. You may want to start a new post so that people who have this one will be sure to see it.
