Co-Op Caladiums how are they doing?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Since 'eyes' went thru so much trouble for us in the Caladium Co-op I think it only fair she see the fruits of her labor.

Please post your shots here so she can see the joy she's given you.

Are those from the co-op? If so, I am sad I missed them!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Not from the CoOp 'Chele..........but they're fairly common on the web, too. Look's like ya been taking real good care of those babies, henry10!!

Great pictures. The ones I got from the co-op and got started in the greenhouse are coming up or have a leaf or two. I still have a bunch in the box to get planted. I'm hoping the weather will stay warm enough for them now. It has been a cold May for us at times.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Heres a pic from awhile ago, of ones that I started early. I finally got most planted outside, and we had a hail storm and it just ripped the leaves to shreds. I wont share that pic! lol

Ones I planted in pots are up and doing great. The ones in the yard are just starting to come up. Will post picture when more are up. Thanks 'eyes', will think of you everytime I look at them and remember the day you, Bill, Harold , and I packed. :) Pam

Oh gosh eyes! That will be beautiful! I cant wait!!

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

I'm a bad person, I admit it . . . I just got mine planted yesterday. Most of 'em, anyway. I'm way behind in my garden projects, and getting further behind all the time . . . just now getting started on what should have been done in April.

They've been in the house - right at about 72º or so, day and night. A few were just starting to sprout in the bags, so I guess they will be ok? Time will tell.

They'll be fine Cheri`..........that just means they'll come up sooner, or so it will seem. Happy growing!

Alocasiaaddict,
I found the Rubicum at a fancy-shmancy on line nursery.(NSE) Thought it was a rare find and paid through the nose for it.
I swear I will not do anymore late night on line shopping, I'm such a sucker when I'm half asleep =((

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

MIne from the co-op are just starting to put up and eyes and unfurl leaves. 'Miss Muffet', my favorite, is the first. I potted up them long ago when they arrived, 3 to a 1 gallon container. Will probably move them about where I need some color- and white ones for dark areas that need some brightness. I did find that until the weather gets HOT and stays there they don't do much, but they are all taking off now. (side note: the bat plants seem to be starting also).

Thanks "eyes", will post photos later on~

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Gosh John, Im glad you said until it gets warmer they dont do much, I thought I was failing terribly.

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

No Shelly, they really sulk until it gets HOT and STAYS hot.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

2 weeks later, and the race is on!! See what 90 degrees will do?!!

Mine have only been planted for 16 days, but I've got spikes poking up! woo hoo! I was afraid I had killed them . . .

They're here!

thank goodness (and eyes) for them! As soon as I finished tilling and planting this bed the rain started. It hasn't really stopped yet! Almost everything I planted in this bed has drowned, but I think every single caladium came up! Now to figure out who is who . . .

Sundry, you first pic is of Red Flash and Rosebud. Your second is White Queen, and the last white is White Christmas.
I love them all, so I can't be partial.........very nice growth there!!

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Jeri-- which one is the Rosebud? The one that does NOT have the white blotches all over?

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

The ones with the spots, they're actually light pink, are Red Flash, get quite large, and don't like to be crowded. The Rosebud has the bright pink center with green margin, and loves to bush out as it grows.

Those are beautiful TARogers. I sure am sorry I missed this coop! Been watching all the pics though and I'm gonna have to get some of those white ones next year. Here's my Rosebud I picked up from MsCK. I also picked up 'Miss Muffet' locally this year.
