It's magnificent when in full bloom!
Weigela florida
I want one of these! Also the wine and roses var.
I recently bought 20 Weigela and they were rather tall. Prior to planting, thinking my husband was watering them as he had watered the 20 pin oak trees we bought, he was not. The leaves turned very brown. They were not watered for 3 days. Top leaves on all were still green. What can I do to help them recover. I am just sick about this. Actually hurt that they were let go. Can anyone help me?
I'd cut 'em back. Can't hurt at this point.
Like Darius said, cut them back to help the plant recover from transpiration (losing moisture through its leaves). Keep them moist, not wet. You might want to use a little bit of "UpStart" which contains vitamin B12, I believe. "UpStart" can be easily found at any commercial nursery or garden center. They should recover nicely and will eventually reward you with shrubs covered in beautiful flowers.
Thanks darius and Shirley1md for the info. I'll let you know how they do.
