Clare won't know until they bloom, but the parents were
Nobel Rainbow,Celdane, and Aztec gold,so It should be interesting what they become.
Your seedlings are they from your on crossing??

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Cool! I know your seedlings won't come true, but do you know which colors are your big ones or are they grown from seed too? Those are good parents for your seedlings.

I don't know about mine. Some of mine were seeds collected at a Plumeria garden in Hawaii. The other seeds are a mixed group which were given to me by a member of the Plumeria Society. She got them at Society meetings and says they are from named varieties.

LOL, Don. I have a bunch of unnamed ones too that I bought and rooted from Aloha Palms. And I bought a red and a pink from Home Depot. They are all pretty much single sticks, but six of mine are getting ready to bloom.

Do you ever get any seeds off of them?
Would be interested in tahiti sunset and intense rainbow.love the rainbow colors, here again catches the eye first!
How do you have the time to keep all these watered??
You buy potting soil by the bag,I've been using the proffessional potting mix that comes in the black bag, that says is being used by the top nurseries but I wonder this mix is awlful light .thats why I think the wind keeps blowing mine over?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, I've never had blooms on them! This is the first year they've bloomed for me. I'll let you know if I get seeds following the bloom. I'll have to go outside to see which ones are blooming. I think Marion B is blooming and some of the unnamed ones.

The Plumeria seedlings don't need much water, but they get watered when I water everything else, which is about every other day, sometimes every day.

Yes, I buy the Miracle Grow Moisture Control these days. My Plumerias are potted in Black Magic Cactus Mix, which is very heavy and which dries out quickly, but there is no way that they could be blown over because of the weight of the mix.

I have pink, pink/yellow and dark pink blooming now. My neighbor chopped her big yellow one(smells wonderful) back today and gave me cuttings. She has big pods on two or three of her brugs. I'm going to beg her for seeds. She got all of hers in Hawaii along with some other plants I'd never seen before.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Calalilly, lets get to know your neighbor real well!!!LOL!
Clare where to you buy your cactus mix and what makes it heavy that would let it dry out so quick?
Heavy winds and rain, and lightning with tornadoes around me tonite, one reported on the ground 20 miles soutwest of me.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Tropicman, maybe I can talk her into adopting me! They also own a citrus orchard. She is very nice, and flower crazy. She wants some of my elephant ears and I gave her two brugs today.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Adopt me too!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Don, I get my Black Magic Cactus Mix at Home Depot. It comes in a red bag. I'm not sure what's in it -- I'll look at the ingredients the next time I buy it. I'm pretty sure it has lots of sand in it. Take care of yourself in that dangerous weather and let us know how you are in the morning.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

I'll check HD.I usually go to Lowes, easier to get to,they have been rebuilding HWY 54,for 2 yrs now, making it difficult to get to HD.
Other than a few things knock over everything was fine, storms went to the southeast of me,was lucku again!

Okay, I went into the garden this morning, and I have two Celadines, one Home Depot pink, two unknowns, and Marion B all producing inflo's. Marion B's inflo has turned black for some reason. Hmmm. Does anyone know why this has happened?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Have you just recently fertilized them?
Or has it been shadey then now lots of heat and sunshine?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Yes, on both accounts. Only the inflo on Marion B. is black. The other inflo's on the other ones are growing, and one is almost blooming. Does this happen, Don?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well It has happen to me as well, last year,I think it had some sort of fungus,I cut the black off,and it started another branch just behind where I cut the black off,I read somewhere to much water or fertilizer might have caused it.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Don, yes, I had the black tip fungus too on one of my tips of my Plumerias this past winter when it was really wet and cold out. I ended up tossing it. Is this the same thing? Just the inflo is black, not the plant or the tips. I wonder if it will spread? It has already branched around the inflo. It was hot and sunny for a few weeks, and then we got about a week of clouds and cool weather, and now it is warm again. Maybe I watered too much, or as you say, gave it too much fertilizer. Thanks!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well if is all black take the inflo completely off it won't do anymore, sounds like to much fertilzer to me.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Darn! Okay, thanks, Don.

Shelly:

Do you know which plumeria you received a cutting of? I hope it roots for you also because you will love it! The flowers are beautiful and fragrant and the plant is drought tolerant once it has been established. What more can we ask for? :-)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Beautiful blooms, Delecie. I just found out that Bridal Bouquet Pudica is not fragrant! Darn! How is the fragrance of Maui Beauty?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Clare:

I'm not good with descriptions but Maui Beauty smells good. Hopefully someone else can describe its' fragrance better than I can. :-)

Rylaff, You have Mail.

No mail :(

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

It is Irma Bryan. I cant wait. And Clare was so wonderful to inform me of a great site. I cant wait for the fun to begin! Thank you again Clare!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Sure, Shelly, no problem. Aloha Palms sends quality cuttings for $1.99 each in all different colors. The only downfall, if you can call it that, is that you have to purchase a minimum of five. Shelly, the rainbows and the reds and the Singapores are the hardest to root. I would follow the instructions that you find here: http://www.plumeria101.com/cuttings101.html to the letter. The rainbows and reds tend to rot easily so water once, then don't water again until you see leaves growing.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Thanks Clare! Gosh I think that will be the hardest part for me not watering them. I wont tho! Thank you again.
