One plant that we inherited when we bought our house is the white lavender. I want to do some cuttings to have more of this beauty and I though that while I was at it, I should go ahead and trim it because it is looking leggy and woody.
Is it the wrong time of year to trim a lavender? And can I trim way back or will I kill my pride and joy?
Thanks!

I've had good results rooting lavender by stem cuttings. I used a bit of rooting hormone and kept them under a dome to keep moisture in. I took cuttings 3 or 4 inches long and stripped off the bottom leaves. Most had rooted in 4 weeks.
As long as your plant is actively growing I think it would be okay to prune and tidy it up.
