I'm in zone 5, but have some room to bring things inside, so that's not an issue. No houseplants, though. I have both sunny and shade areas, plus an area under some pines. Any colors are OK. I did have a Justicia that I just loved that didn't get covered before an early frost, another one would be wonderful, my Allamanda and Blue Sky vine didn't make it either. But anything would be well loved and cared for.

Hi MaryinLA.
Yes... Ive avoided strong yellows to reds cause they remind me of McDonalds' landscaping.... silly I know. I call them fast food flowers which is SURE to [deleted] off at least HALF of Daves garden. Funny that you should mention it...... But Im an oil painter by trade so I treat my garden as living canvas and can get pretty obsessive about composition and balance. I like the way whites, pinks and blues bounce off the green foliage. Okay now Im blathering......Lol Greta
My wish list.... but anything is fine...
Blue Hostas
Ruffled Daylilies
Tall Ferns
Toad Lily
Prennials
and always Brugs!!
Let's see, my garden is both full sun and full shade with a lot of stuff in between. I love the unusual, then I have to limit myself to what doesn't need to sleep in the cold.
These will do fine here:
Japanese painted type ferns
Heucheras
Elephant ears
Unusual sedums
Unusual succulents
Variagated Canna Lilies
Oriental Lilies
daylilies (not orange)
Blue Hibiscus
Pond plants (no water lettuce)
Sensitive plant
Mainly, uncommon, unusual to rare plants. If it will grow here, I always have a place for it (except no trees)
I'm always happy to get surprises. :^)
Molly Mc
This is great! I love almost all plants, especially unusual ones. But central Mississippi gets very hot and I must deal with that. Some people have listed plants I have never even heard of, so I would appreciate planting directions, too! I know I will love my surprise and it will be treasured!
Yvonne
Hello!
As for my wish list... hummmmm.
I am in zone 5. I have sun, part sun and shade. We have two small yard ponds.
Perennials for my zone 5 would be nice. I like vines. I have some stapelias and some huernias that I really adore as well as some good old smelly amorphophallus konjacs. I have some "different" tastes. I like iris, daylily's and would really like to try a brugmansia.
So I guess that means pretty much anything goes!!! I love it all!!
Thank you!!
Lori
I’m in zone 5 and have a sunny cottage garden, a heavy-shade garden, and a sun area that I am filling with ornamental grasses (I currently have Miscanthus Morning Light, Gracillimus and Purpurascens as well as some Imperata cylindrica “Red Baron”). I also grow herbs, garlic, plant seeds, a few vegetables and houseplants. Perennials are my favorites. I lean toward gem tones, but I do all colors. I’ll be thrilled with whatever my partner wishes to share!
Some favorites I’d eventually like to have:
Heucherella Dayglow Pink
Hostas – particularly blues or brights
Amethyst Astilbe or Pink Lightning Astilbe
Daylilies, any (Amadeus is nice)
Tricyrtis (Toad lily)
Jacob’s Ladder
Japanese Iris – any, Rose Queen is a beauty
Corkscrew Vine/Snail Vine
Love all lilium!
Persicaria microcephala 'Red Dragon'
Echinacea – Orange Meadowbright or purpurea 'Ruby Giant'
Notocactus rutilans
I like just about everything that grows. I have sun, shade and a water garden. I'm in need of annuals since I didn't get many started from seed this winter. Hardy perennials are always welcome as long as they aren't gonna take over. I love daylilies, hosta, iris, passion flowers, and any tropicals I can winter over in containers. Anything with pretty foliage ... especially the sun coleus varieties to add to containers.
Hmmm... that's all I can think of for now. I had a bad winter and lost lots of plants - even some of the shasta daisies :-( Anything will be welcome - there's lots of holes to fill.
Hi! I am new to Dave's! I am in zone 9 so anything that can stand high humidity. I love butterfly plants, esp. interesting passifloras, salvias and brugmansias, daturas, etc. Thanks!
Liz
Hope this doesn't go through twice! I would like to do the secret trade for anything that will take zone 9 temps! I like tropicals and butterfly plants. Thanks! Liz
Lets see, I really wouldnt like house plants or brugs Im trying to lessen moving in and out plants.
I like hostas esp small ones
Brunneras
coleus
potato vines blackie and margerite
jacobs ladder varigated or blue
purple or red astilbe
pink scabosia
huecheras
bears breeches
Louisanna iris's
These are just a just suggestions I am sure anything I get will be the perfect plant for me.
just realized that i didnt post a list of stuff that i dont particularly care for/dont need
i'm not big on annuals normally (yes, i've got impatiens.. and coleus, but those arent really annuals here...)
also, if it cant take the almost nonexistant winters here (9b south) then i'm better off not having it, since i dont have a green house, and have no room to take things inside, i do however have a protected area near the dryer vent that is reserved for the more tender things (just barely hardy stuff)
anyway..
i'm also not a big daylily or iris person..
i've got coral vine, dutchman's pipevine, maypop (passiflora) vine, and i dont really have any room for anymore vines, so.. ..yeah...
hrm, i know that leaves quite a bit out.. but.. hrm..
anyway, i will really be happy with anything, i'm not *really* as picky as i sound
lol
Kim
I've got a want list posted on my exchange page, but really I am a plantaholic and will love anything.
Annual, perennial or tropical or for a pond :) I would love some new heuchera's, I lost a lot of mine to the flood last year. But will be quite happy to get a box that someone packed special for me no matter whats in it! ;)
ANYTHING will be just fine, because what makes the plants special is that they are shared from someone else's garden.
I do like small to medium, moundy-type plants/flowers/shrubs/grasses/herbs, etc., heirlooms, dwarf trees, brugs, tropicals, hibiscus, what-have-you, and am open to anything.
I live in Zone 9a (HOT and humid), which is in the New Orleans area (coastal Louisiana), but I also "push-the-zone" and experiment with plants not typically grown in this area.
This is going to be fun!
Jean
i love fragrant flowers. my 1st passion are brugs. am looking for brug start or cuttings of Creamsickle, Butterfly and L'Amour. my other new passion are Daylilies and Hosta. i love tropical plants too ;).

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner. Here is my wish list:
Every green vines for 5a.
Iris
fragrant flowers
perennials - colorful flowers
water plants, floaters would be great
