I read that ferns need fertilizer frequently during the growing season. Can anyone help suggest a fertilizer for this fern?

To be honest, I don't fertilize my wood ferns all that much, but I do try to mulch them each fall with shredded leaves and a thin layer of well-rotted manure. Maybe I'd get better results if I did fertilize them more, so I'll watch this thread for other suggestions ;o)
