For how to obtain the permit, you have to ask Brugie.
I have to apply here for the phyto. The phyto costs appr. Euro 40. The shipping costs are appr. EURO 45 via Air Mail + the plant prices.
I prefered to sends seeds of good crosses instead of plants up to now. Brugmansia Seeds are guaranteed free of diseases.

The import permit is free and takes about 2-3 weeks from beginning to receiving it. If you want to get it, email me and I'll send you a phone number to call.

Sherry...please either e-mail me or post here the instructions! I think posting would be good as others can see it as well.

Another question....what is the exchange of euros to US dollars at this time?

And monika could you let me know what the cost of the plants are also. Something is very deep rose would be nice!

Sherry, I haven't received any mail from you.

Ooooops, I think I might have posted replies to a different thread, duh, this thread hopping keeps my ole mind a workin', whew!! Shirley, I replied to you on another thread that, yes, indeedy, I received your post, but your server bounced my reply. The spam detectors have mail in a tizzy, so I replied to you on that other thread. Margie, Shirley will posted me the tele number, which is: 1-877-770-5990. This is the desk of Carolyn F. Fitzgerald. You will tell her that you are needing an import permit for plants and tell her Brugmansia.

I will call her tomorrow too, Margie. I understand the permit is free, the postage on the plants is $45, which does not include the cost of the plant(s), I would love more than one too. I checked with a couple of attys, and, as I thought, a permit without cost, is more of a formality, to know where 'foreign' plants are located, in the event of some problem, such as a virus or disease outbreak. Should I be fortunate enough to receive a plant, I assure you, it will not leave my property for the duration of the quarantine. I'm pretty excited and *I think* I read someplace that we could use trusty ole paypal, which I love!!! I cannot wait to see how this wonderful turn of events will progress!!!! SherryLike

I figure it is going to cost you $100 plus the price of the plants. That is a lot of $$.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Sherry...keep me posted and I will keep you posted too! Now we need to find out the cost of the plants! I asked monika on this thread. I will let you know if she responds by e-mail.

Shirley posted: That is a lot of $$.

Yep, and, considering the bucks, which of Monika's plants would you choose??? I've never seen one that I haven't just fallen in love with. But, which one, or two or maybe three, would you choose?? I LOVE beauty/color and fragrance, maybe fragrance before beauty, but I do love both. Which would be your choices? TIA!!! SLike

I think I'd ask Monika which plants would be best suited for travel and then growing over here. I can't say. That would be something you would have to decide with her help.

My two cents (which isn't costing me anything)....Monika's *double pinks* (which can't be found for love nor money)!!

Lilypon - Moose Jaw? Most interesting!!!

Huh??? I know a Best in Show Golden Retriever cannot be purchased. Do you mean that there are double pinks that aren't on the market? TIA!!! SLike

I haven't seen anyone but Monika post pics of solid gorgeous med to dark double pinks. They may be available from Germany but I haven't seen anybody in North America posting that they have one. I am way out of the ballpark up here but I have been drooling over the pics for a couple of years and I do grow as many as I can find overwintering space for. ;)

Hi Everyone -

How large are these plants that everyone has gorgeous flowers? The plants look so big...like you've been growing them for years.

I just received 2 teeny tiny brugs today and hope it's not several years before I see these gorgeous flowers.

I love your white flowers monika!!!

Gee Sherry haven't you checked out the brugmanisa database on Dave's or the one over at ABADS? My first year of brug lust I spent hours at these sites as well as online German brug stores.
