Pink Moonflower Seedling?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Okay- I planted a bunch of Pink Moonflower vine seeds. (Thanks TorotiseKeeper!)- ONE came up- or at least I think it did. Does a MF seedling look like a melon when it first sprouts? Mine has a thick stem and fat "first leaves". In the center of the first leaves these really dark green leaves are coming out. PLEASE tell me this IS a MF!!! LOL. I planted them in April. IS it a MF? Well is it is it?! LOL!!!

Crimsontsavo, I'm not sure about Pink Moonflower. Is it an Ipomoea? Here is my Ipomoea Alba Moonflower last year. The leaves are distinctly heart-shaped. Also, see this link: http://plantsdatabase.com/search.php?search_text=ipomoea&submit=Search

Yea that's it. It has grown (in the last few hours) a couple inches. LOL.
This is so exciting! Thanks!

Crimson,

The pink is not like the white
at all. Flowers are smaller, like trumpets & there is no scent. Oh, the vine is much heavier & will need a strong support. Mine will grow 20 or more feet in a season. They may
not bloom the first season, will
die to the ground with frost & re-sprout in spring. The root is like a sweet potato & sometimes grows out of ground, if this happens, just put more dirt on top.

okay there are two differnt pink moonflower vines.

if its from the co op or someone who had pink /lavendar moonflower seeds them yes its like the alba. this one doesnt produce tubers but is an annual that readily seeds.

then if its like the one honeybee is talking about she is right too. this one does produce tubers.

you need to ask Tortisekeeper exactly which ones you have.

hope this helps some.
