As I was boxing some toad lilies up for trade I had to break off a couple of the tops of the taller ones. Do you think they will root in water? I've never tried it, but would love to propagate some this way if possible.
Thanks!
Toad Lilies
I'd divide them in two, put half in water, use normal cutting compost (vermiculite, sand or peat, or any combination) for the other half. Put the planted ones under a tent of a large transparent plastic bag to reduce transpiration and keep them warm an in the light... Wait and see what happens. You are hardly losing anything, as even if they don't root, you can use the compost again for something else...
Good luck...
Mike
I've rooted my toad lilies by cutting off the top and sticking in soil near a faucet.
