Hurrah! It's Raining in Utah!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

and snowing in the mountains. blessings. plus it's another chore I can postpone - getting out the hoses and putting that part together. We've had clouds all day and it's just a little chilly. BUT it is raining a nice steady sprinkle.
Musta been our turn. seems there's not enuff to go around any more.
Hey berrygirl check out the Love ina Mist thread in heirlooms, I meant to post it to yours and don't have this down yet. Blooms

No rain here, but I share your joy!

Wanted to put in - we got three/quarters of an inch of rain. A veritable wealth. The nemesia was grateful for the drink. That was last Friday and I've been pulling the wildly successful weeds since... they too loved the drink.

Getting any of the rain this weekend, Blooms? Whenever the weather changes up here I always wonder how it's doing for you down there. Hope your garden's getting a little drink!

we are flooded in Michigan :(

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Too bad they can't just dig a big ditch between Michigan and Utah! Utah needs a flood. LOL Ooh, I'd better watch what I say, don't want to start a Noah's Ark-type downpour.

How flooded are you, Dori? It is Dori, isn't it? Are just the flora and fauna swimming, or are homes and cars swimming too? Hope you're not losing anything to the flood!

so far its just the rivers overflowing into yards and streets are flooded and some sinkholes! I havent went out to look in other areas but i think the "great lakes" are going to be the "great lake"! i wish we could send this to the places that NEED it!
Poor farmers cant plant their crops! Some that are planted are drowning!

My yard is flooded in spots and everything else is SOGGY!

I hope it stops soon! What's the weather forecast? I guess even if the rain stopped now it would still take a few weeks for everything to dry out. Hope you don't lose any favorites in your garden!

HI, I am glad that you folks got some moisture. I would like to get on the pipeline with Dori to send some water out west. We were behind on moisture, then got almost 10 inches the past 3 weeks-some flooding, wet fields etc. Does it seem to folks that the extremes are becoming the expected events? I feel like my grams " I remember, when I was a kid....." I do not recall the weather being like this 40/50 years ago.

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Yes, I think the weather extremes weren't like this years ago. I was watching NOVA on PBS a few weeks ago and I think they gave an explanation for the weather extremes all over the world. I'll spare you the 60 minutes worth of details but basically, if these scientists are right, the Earth's magnetic poles are starting to switch. During the several hundred years it takes for the switch to be complete the weather will become erratic all over the world. Dallas, TX could end up having snow in August some day! It's just a theory, and weather at that extreme they said probably won't be occuring for another 150 years. Thank goodness I won't be alive! LOL
