Simply gorgeous! :(

The Epi image I posted yesterday is from a cutting I purchased last fall. The first flower opened on a couple of days that were cool and overcast and was more of a dark salmon color. (See image on this post.) This one opened on a hot sunny day and is MUCH darker, one more bud to go.

I love the glow that those blooms have. That plant is one of the ugliest plants I've ever seen but when it blooms the ugly duckling definitely becomes a swan. :)

This is a very addicting plant.. I just love them.

Lilypon, you are so right, they do glow.

I am amazed at the blooms I see here. I have had a few epi's for years and nothing yet..no blooms, no nothing. I think I need to bring them in here to see what they are suppose to be doing. No more free ride for them.

A third variety of Epi has decided to make an appearance. It is about 1/3 the size of the large fuschia/stripe one.

Here's an image that compares the sizes of the three types:

We're fogged in with cold and wind here this morning, but the sun should be coming through soon. The Epis are still doing their thing. This is an 8" bloom tip to tip.
