Brugs for real.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Good luck, Brinda. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My problem is I never start! LOL

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Now I don't have a problem starting. LOL If the sun is shining I hear the outdoors calling me. In fact, I hear it now so I've got to get busy. LOL

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

LOL Kell....I hear ya!!! My only problem with starting (or staying) is getting off this computer! Too many gorgeous pics to look at!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Root, your brugs are beautiful.

Meiyu (who doesn't seem to post here anymore) lives a short ways from me. I toured her yard last summer and her brugs were all huge and full of blooms. I asked her how she got them so big in one year and she said she used superthrive on all of them.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I need to find some Superthrive ... been looking just not seen any.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Try Walmart Deb. Do you have one of those? Mine has huge bottles of it.

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

I've looked everywhere for Super Thrive (Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Franks Nursery)........... Maybe it just isn't available in Michigan.

I think I'm going to see if I can find it online.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

I saw a picture of Superthrive(commercial) where they had a big EE in a pot,I have to try this,so far I love it,just not the price,I would hate to see what a big bottle costs!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

I went out and looked for it today, but no luck at all! I guess I will be putting in my order tonight! Wow...wonder what it will do to a EE?

Mesilla Park, NM

Tree_Climber and Brinda,
Lowes has it hanging on one of the end of isle racks (you have to ask for it) and HD has it in the inside where they sell orchid food and roottone area with the tropicals. Hope that yours has them also.

Root, I know what you mean, it's just a hobby, it's just a hobby..............

Thanks Kell ... yes we have a Walmart, but I hate going to it, not in the best part of the town I'd have to go to!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Thanks Shirley ... it is done!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Rdoc, your photo is beautiful, wow!!!! Do I see an Upee in your photo, Up Right Elephant Ear???? I'm nutz for Upees but did not know they grew in your zone, but I assume, if they are, indeed, Upees that you take them in for the winter. SLike

Whitewater, WI

Ok, everybody. Here's my first attempt with my new camera.
Let's see how digitally challenged I really am. lol
Oh by the way, the house is a work in progress. I figure I'll have to leave the finishing touches to my grandchildren. :)

Good stuff Steel Datura! I thought you forgot!
Your house is a hundred years old?
Looks wonderful. And I see you are starting a Brug driveway?

Whitewater, WI

Oops..found 1 more..... :)

Phew...I'm exhausted...lol, Liz, I find the farther away I take the picture, the younger the house looks. :)
Not a brug driveway but where my DH and my energy failed when we drug them out of the house. lol Another work in progress.. :)

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

SD, I love the house. I always wanted an old two story house. We have a few of the old houses on Fulton Street in Salisbury and Union Street in Concord and they are just beautiful. Of course I want mine in the middle of fifty to a hundred acres. LOL

Whitewater, WI

Thanks, Ada. I wouldn't mind mine in the middle of about a hundred acres either. lol I guess I should be happy with the 1 acre it's on. :)

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

steel_d, your house is lovely and all your brugs look really good! Please keep us posted on the progress!

Gourd, thanks for the info. I was a Lowe's today and couldn't find it. I will try again tomorrow and ask for it. If not, I'll make a trip to HD and give that a try! Wish me luck! LOL

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

SD your house is great. I can just see the driveway lined with brugs.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Beautiful house SD ... it looks huge. We sold my Grandma's house last year ... had been in the family for 92 yrs. I bet your driveway will be beautiful this summer.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Major house envy going on here!!!!!!
Whew!!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I'd be happy if it was mine on just one acre. (LOL) but I like to dream big.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

That house is HUGE!!!!

Where does the housekeeper stay?

I assume you have one cause the is NO way you could get me to clean a house that big without paying me...LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great pictures of the house. I'm like CC...no way could I clean all of that house without being paid and then I'm not sure I'd want to do it. Didn't you tell me it was over 5000 square feet? I can't imagine Tom lugging all those pots upstairs and back down again.

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

Brinda,

If your luck finding Super Thrive is no better than mine you can get it on ebay. After several places telling me they had never heard of it that's where I finally ordered from last night.

4oz bottle for $9.98 plus $2 shipping. They had different size bottles too.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

TreeClimber! Thanks so much! I was about to order it, but decided to look one last place. I went to a little (very nice) nursery after church hoping they would have it. Yep, they sure did. I gave more than they have it listed for on ebay, I think it was $34.99 for a pint, but at least it is here and I'M READY TO 'SUPERTHRIVE' EVERYTHING! LOL Thanks so much!

County Roscommon, Ireland(Zone 8a)

Root - your brugs look amazing. I love that raised bed.

Steel-dat. What a lovely house you have. I already have zone-envy, now I have house-envy - doh!

Sue

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

Brinda,

I'm glad you found it. I'm like you, I would have paid what ever price it was if I found it locally. I don't like to wait.

Whitewater, WI

Thank you everybody for the kind words. Yes, to clean it, it is a JOB. Thats why I always nag, nag, nag..... It feels that just when I'm done, I have to start all over again. I have this LOVE/HATE relationship with all the woodwork. Why does it get dusty so quick???
After getting an estimate from a painting co. for almost 48G to paint the outside of it, we decided that we can tackle it ourself. Well, it's almost done....this year we still have to attack the peaks....I'm NOT looking forward to it...lol
See..I'm nagging again...lol

Root, wanna swap houses??? You can even duplicate the raised bed...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

For $48,000, I would paint it also! That is terrible. Do you have it filled with all sorts of antique goodies?

Brugie, the older I get the smaller my dream house becomes! LOL. But in my youth I would have loved this one SD.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Great pictures, Steel Datura and Doc!

Steel, your house is sooo beautiful!

Doc, your Brugs are amazing! I use Superthrive too, but only when I need to relieve transplant shock after transplanting. I get mine at Home Depot, and I pay $8.96 for a little bottle.

Here's a shot of half of my front yard from the outside.

Thanks Kell, when I got the estimate for the new roof, my DH had to pick me off the floor and use defibrillator...

Clare, your plants are just beautiful...

Thankfully, my local WalMart has Superthrive, at least for the time being...lol

Forgot to say.. wish I had antiques...all my money goes for heating and brugs...lol
