CC, who is YOU?

Sherry, yes I pollinate flowers. In the beginning I would just rip off an anther and go up to another bloom on another plant and stick the pollen end onto the stigma of that flower. I would wait till the bloom fell off and if the peduncle was left on I was pretty sure it had taken. I would gently feel the end of the peduncle thru the calyx and soon I would feel a ball forming. Within a few weeks it was obvious to my eye I had accomplished pod!

I stole this pic from Dave's a couple of years ago. I do not know to whom I should give credit.

***Kell, I understand all that. My problem is #1, I'm on dial up, which is slow, and #2, when I read my watched threads and maybe leave DG to take care of my real life work, ha, I often forget the threads I planned to reply. I really thought I never would find this thread again. And, hey, I've had several lurkers post me, who have the same problem, and I'm glad they did, or I would have thought it was just me. I know I will figure it out, but I'll bet DG would have twice the membership if #1, the program was less complicated and not on the net, I'd love it if it was on yahoo or topica, which would really help dial up users, and #2, there were simple instructions for newbies. This is my only pay for view subscription list and it IS worth the bucks and extra effort. If I could get DSL all my problems would be solved, as if, ha!!! Thanks for helping me, you are a cutie and I appreciate your time!!!!!! SLike

CC, I root Iochroma in soiless mix with a little rooting hormone, remove all but the youngest leaves, and just keep them damp. They root like a charm that way. Like Susie I use they younger tips, but I have used the slightly older wood it just talkes a little longer. My favorite is Red wine.

Are you going to sell these Tracey, in your store?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Not yet. Maybe soon though, got to get through Mother's Day. They are in desperate need of a hair cut! Kell your seedlings are about three foot tall, and look so good! Oh shoot, work calling, got to go...

The seeds are tiny, so I put several of each in the jiffy peat cubes or whatever you call them, easier to thin and transplant that way. I pretty much just put them on top of the soil. They germinate fast and are very small when they come up.
