Maya ...again

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

This plant out of all the brugs I have in the GH seems to be doing the best.It blooms every few weeks, only a couple though, the aphids which are the bane of my existence don't really jump on it.....and the leaves all look great

That's a nice dark bloom. Very pretty!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice color. Bet you are enjoying the smells from the greenhouse in the evening.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I love this one, CC. Mine was so pretty last year. It was a big bush and I trimmed it to a tree.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Your bloom sure looks nice and dark,I am really getting to like Maya more and more!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Very pretty CC. Maya is my favorite, someday I will have another one.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

So pretty! I sure am getting anxious to get some blooms, looking at all these beauties.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

So pretty. Mine came thru the move and is recovering. I can't wait till it blooms.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Mine never bloomed so dark, but more of a buff color! I will be interested to see how the one I send to Brugie blooms for her.

I find caterpillars will eat this one down to nothing in about a night!

Whitewater, WI

Another beauty CC. Unfortunately mine was lost. Maya was one of the casualties of kitty attack. Darn cats!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

The last Maya I had was a heck of a bloomer. It took the full sun and heat like a trooper. This was the summer of 2002. Mine didn't do as well last year and I kept cuttings, but I have always had trouble getting this one to root.

Caterpillars love Maya. Apparently, she is more tasty than other Brugs LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Here is one I planted out in the front last summer. When I went back to look at it, I died!

WOW,is that catapillar damage....??????

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

YES!!! And done so fast. It had huge strapping leaves. All the caterpillars from the entire yard must have come running as soon as I planted this one! LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Kell, a caterpillar goulasch would have been my revenge LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You have been hanging out too much with Susie, Monika! Her specialty is cooking with bugs! She serves them to her guests in disguise and then tells them when it is too late!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL! Bugs have much protein! Think about Fire Ants, dipped in chocolate LOL

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

yum-yum.....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You guys are nuts!! No way would I eat a bug of any kind. Some of those crazy programs on TV that make people eat worms and bugs just about make me toss my last meal. I'll stick with meat, fish, and poultry. You all enjoy the bugs and Susie's cooking. LOL!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Remind me to never eat at Susie's house. LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Shirley, in Delicatessen stores, you are able to buy chocolate covered ants and grasshoppers! They are expensive!!! LOL.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Monika, I saw those in California, chocolate covered bugs. I prefer chocolate covered strawberries!
Kell, I can send you my caterpillar goulash recipe if you like. It's very tasty!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh Monika, I know that people eat them, but I think I'll save my money and buy flowers for the bugs to crawl on instead.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I also love all kind of Chocolate covered fruits: strawberries, Bananas, apples, ginger etc. but would not be able to swallow one piece of these bugs! Just the thought of it gives me goose pimples LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Monika.....goose bumps! I bet those are tastier than goose pimples! What a thought!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Goose bumps? LOL!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

My Dad made me eat some of those chocolate covered bugs,I am a chocolte freak and he knew I'd eat it...but he didn't tell me what the crunch was till later......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

He was preparing you to make a fortune on a reality show, CC!

The saying is goose bumps Monika, not goose pimples! LOL. And now that I think about it, how did the saying even come to be? Do geese have bumps??

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Ive heard goose pimples too... but I hear goose bumps more.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Really? geez, geese have pimples and bumps? I wonder if there are dermgoostologists? LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have also heard people say that something gives them goose flesh.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are right Brugie!! LOL. So where is CC when you need her?

Hey fowl lady......... come explain this all to us!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

lolol

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Ever seen a bare necket goose?...that will explain goose bumps...or pimples.......or bumples.......

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My bare naked, necking geese are made to stay in their rooms CC when so occupied with that activity!! They are only allowed out when fully dressed!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

that would make them dinner.....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Christmas dinner!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

and St. Martins Day also!
But we prefer a tasty sauerbraten with potato dumplings and spiced red cabbage.
