true love Larry! true love!!
L'Amour
Will try and get some pics after work this afternoon.
Kell, After babying them all winter, I do not want them to croak now.
Shirley, that pic looks exactly like the one on the cover of Monika's first book that was in English. I didn't know Kyle knew Monika back then, thought they met on this forum.
Thats a pretty picture Shirley. Apparently, the flash made the color paler as it actually was.
LOL Brugie, do you save Monika's pics also? I just love them! I have them also. I love it when they come up on my screen saver.
Monika, you could make a fortune selling them as screen savers!!
PS I have a L'A blooming right now in the hoophouse! I saw it today under a leaf of my RK.

Monika, that was a winter picture if I remember right.
Yes, Kell, I save her pictures. They are just so pretty and the fact that they are hers and she is my friend makes it more fun to have them. Hey, I have some of yours too.
Oh my God John, you collect great pottery! That big vase is so stunning. I just love it so much!!! Who was the maker? I bet that is an old and coveted piece. When I started to notice pottery it was already too high for my purse!
Showing my ignorance here, is that Roseville?
I'm not into pottery, but that flower is a beauty. Just goes to show that climate does make a difference in bloom color.
Oh Brugie, it definitely does! I get dark yellows but light pinks!
Miss Lizzy, I think it may be Weller but the bleeding has me wondering and lots of Weller patterns have more detail. I do not know much about pottery. From what I recall when I would go to the shows, Roseville flowers just look different, more dominating in the piece and the color is exact on them.
The bud vase is Weller I believe, Sabrinian. Though the lip maybe missing on 1 side. The Hudson vases are one of my favorite Weller patterns. I may have to indulge myself one of these days and treat myself to just one large piece!
Here is one I like alot though I have seen prettier iris ones.

Well, see Miss Lizzy, you know more than I do! LOL. I never would have said Roseville and there was a time I was enamored with Roseville before I went on to older Weller pieces. I am not familiar with the Vista pattern at all. The Wisteria pattern is my favorite mainly because I just love wisteria! You can have your pottery mimic your outside garden! Too cool! Right now I have about 15 wisteria blooming!
That is quite a Sabrinian collection! Perfect for someone who lives near the beach! The glaze is just lovely!
It's lovely Brugmania. You have outstanding collections. I remember you saying that your Toby's were highlighted on the Antiques Roadshow. I remember seeing them. I'm a collector at heart and appreciate anyone who is. I don't know what the appropriate forum here is but you have incredible collections that we'd all love to see.
Thanks John! I just love that pattern. You must have tons! Once in a while I see a piece on ebay and get the urge to bid but I have heard too many of the pieces are cracked. And also, I think you need to see the actual piece to see if it makes you happy. 2 of the same pieces can affect you very differently depending on the artist as in my Hudson Weller pieces or the amount of actual dye used, etc.
Liz, being a collector is in the genes I think. My son is just like me, he feels better when he has one of every thing he collects. He loves books, so he will collect every book by an author! I explain it that the brain gets stuck and keeps repeating itself. My poor DH does not understand it at all. He says if you have one piece of something, you have them all!
Same with brugs, he says when you have seen one brug, you have seen them all! I wonder if most of us brug growers have other collections also. It makes sense that we would!
John, do you have any raku? There is some great raku on eBay.
WOW Scoot, that looks like a watercolor painting!
Have really enjoyed seeing everyones collections.
I have collected old china, some handpainted, have RS Prussia creams and sugars. I bought them way......back in 1975, some for $20-$50 dollars, now they are not to be found or going at 5 times that.
Post some pics Gloria. I just love vintage items! Did you use these as an inspiration for your own china painting?
Yes I did Kell. I love to paint roses, so mostly I bought older china, some are decals, with good roses, and buds, I LOVE the buds!
Sorry Shirl, didn't mean to hijack your thread......I hope to have L'Amour this year. Gorgeous!
I gotta have that Iris. Where did you get it? What does TB mean? Tuberculosis?
Tall Bearded
NO, NO, NO, I can't look. I've already ordered way too much.
LOL Linda, I looked!!! Did you see Ghio?? Yum. I love that site , easy to see all of them without waiting for pages to load. No clicking!
The trouble with me is I am madly in love with what ever I am looking at at the time. And I buy like that is all I grow. I am nuts! LOL
