wish so bad they could post a thread , or respond to a question that had been asked? (of course, newbie me's responses are more questions, lol)
I sure did! I'd been dying to post the pics of my seedlings (the "real" brugs) or ask questions regarding discussions already going on.
I'm glad we are back on.
I care about all everyone at Daves. No matter what forum. Let's value our time and space here and be friends.

During "Time Out", did anyone......
Me! Me!
I was updating my thread which started with pics of a bud with those curly-cues on it. Then the plant had about 4 beautiful blooms on it and I could not post a pic!!
I will try & get a decent pic after work today (YES I am goofing off at work as we speak!) and update that old thread.
I am glad we are back too! I'm another newbie with more questions than answers :)) Hopefully that ratio will change eventually!
Fortunately, during the time out I was on a trip to California to see my 2 month old grandchild, so I didn't miss it too much, although I did check in once or twice. Don't you just love DG? I've been here several years and I still love it! I have learned a lot over the years. You might want to ask and see if it's still possible to get Monika's book on brugs. I found it helpful with a problem I had last year with potted brugs.
True Monika's brug book is really fantastic!! I refer to it alot. It really is a how to book. I think Susie and Alice sell it from their stores if anyone needs it. Email them.
I was lucky enough to be with other Brugnuts for the weekend,we all were jonesing, but with all the plant talk,,we did not miss it too much.
Yes Kell,I agree,I know I had to refer to Monikas book more than once over the weekend!
Has Monika's book been entered into the Bookworm? What's the name of it, if so.
Monika's book is a must for everyone. It is so full of information and will certainly answer many questions that you might have. There are also many pictures that help you understand things. She also has a translation book to go along with it since her book is in German. It so easy to follow because it is set up like the book and the page numbers are the same.
What is the name of the book? Maybe I could order it through Hastings - they special order for me, if it is on their lists.
Karrie, Calas Tropicals and Abutilon will offer it in their stores in about three weeks.

I also have Monika's book and I love it.
I think we all agree on this one. Monika's book is the best.
Karrie, it is better to get it from a Dave source for it will come with the translation book. I almost bought it from Euro Amazon, then I read here that Monika was translating it for us here on Daves. So I waited. And I was so glad I did!
Karrie . . don't forget that is signed by Monika which makes it a real keepsake and quite special. I have to ask . . does 20x refer to barrel racing?
So what is the Dave's source????
Monika mentions in one of her posts above where they will be available.
"Calas Tropicals and Abutilon"???? We don't have any of those stores here. Do they have online links we can order from?
Karrie, up at the top of this page under the DG logo there is a heading for member stores. If you click on it you can look for Karchesky Canna and Calas Tropicals.

That's weird - I don't see it! Maybe it's because I'm running IE 6??????? If someone can get the link for me and paste it in here, that would be great.
Karrie, it is in the block that says Karrie20x's Menu at the top on the right. If you can't find it, one of us will get you there.
Scroll down a bit ~ it's in the Karrie20x Menu.
This is mine

Shoe, yes it has
http://gardenbookworm.com/c/954/
So tell me Shoe, you grow lots of chinese veggies? I bet you are a great cook!
I think I heard somewhere that Jeanne is selling Engelstrompeten (Brugmansia) to any Canadian members that need it.
I also heard ABADS wants it also. It will be all over! LOL
Thanks Kell! (Hehehe...so my question prompted a 'good thing'~! Yay!...Thanks Folks for entering your comments and critique on this book. I don't even have the book yet and it's obvious Monika rocks!)
Chinese veggies? Yes, I grow a few from time to time. Not sure how many this year tho. (Was there a post I made about them somewhere? Can't remember.)
Back to the topic at hand, I hope to one day own this book. Course, I also hope to get to one day meet Monika, and any of you other Brug lovers.
Again, much obliged!
oh, ok - I see it now - it's not under the logo, it's under my name.
Horseshoe, where is Hillsborough? Is it near Raleigh? I live about twenty miles north Of Charlotte in Kannapolis.
One of these days we are all going to go to Germany, Shoe and you are invited! LOL. We are going to sleep in the famous Brug Alley, under the brug blossoms. And Frank is going to cook for us all sorts of special German dishes. First one will be potato salad!
Gwist and Tonny will meet us all there. So will Jeanne and Liz. LOL. Peggy and I will get over our fear of flying just for this trip! Right Peggy?
PS I saw your chinese veggie book in the garden BookWorm!
Shoe I knew we would get you in here and btw you have already meet some of us brug lovers. Kell if you go to Germany I will be there with ya but I think you better be talking to shoe and Tracey about the flying.... lol Don't think you will talk them into it. lol
Goin' to Germany!! Yikes! Fear of flying!? Yikes! Ain't nobody got a fear of flying like I do! I got such a fear of heights I don't even wear shoes (they put me too high off the ground)!
Sounds like a fun trip tho. I'd like to see Germany and some of them good folks over there! (Can Dave come along with us, he can interpret my Southern into German, just in case I want a blue soda or sumpin'.) (All I know is "Gesundheit", and "Saurkraut".) :>)
(I'll probably need some of Frank's tater salad to calm me down, too.) Thanks for the in-vite!
ahelms, yes, Hillsbro' is about 30-40 minutes from Raleigh, a bit north and slightly west. Next time I'm down your way I'll give you a holler.
I have no fear of flying and I can leave at the drop of a hat, so anytime y'all want to go, count me in.
Shoe, that sounds great. I'd love to meet you. Give me a hollar and I'll give you directions or even come and meet you and lead you here.
You all are invited to sleep in the Brug alley, eat old fashion potato salad made without Whip Cream or a good Gulasch soup or Sauerkraut with Rippchen or Sauerbraten with potato dumplings and spiced cabbage.
Dave speaks german? Good to know LOL
Hmmm...Monika, now my mind is wondering what Rippchen" is.
Is that like mashed potatoes and sauerkraut mixed together? (Some folks eat it like that, ya know)
Oh gosh, that sounds horrible Shoe. I want my sauerkraut on a Reuben and my mashed potatoes covered with good old chicken gravy. Making me hungry now.
I want some real honest to goodness lieberkaese, is that how you spell it?
Mashed potatoes with spare ribs and sauerkraut - YUMMMMM!
Rippchen are boiled, saltened Pork chops. After boiling, they hang in the smoke for a day or two. Iowagirl apparently knows, what I am talking about LOL
Mary it is Leberkäse, in some parts of Germany its name is Fleischkäse. I like it fried in the pan with mustard or I use it for Bauernburgers, a homemade german counterpart of Hamburgers.
Ok, Let me get this picture straight in my mind.......
We're in Brug Alley, under..hmmm..let's say a Rubirosa tree, reading Monikas Book while eating Franks delicacies....
Telling Brug stories under the stars.......
Say no more.... Kell, book the flight while I go & stock up on Dramamine...lol

I want to go also. Add me to the list. I'll close my eyes until we get over the big pond. LOL
Yippee, this sounds like heaven!
