Does anyone know which double this is?

Mesilla Park, NM

It is about to drop the second skirt. I purchased this one almost two years ago at a landscaping place with no name, they just said it was a double white. Normally, all my buds look rotten on this one, and the skirt never comes down, this time it looks like it is even with the first one so far and healthier than normal for here.. Thanks. Antoinette

That is the way my Candida Double White acted. It always turned a little brown before the inside skirt ever came down.

Thank you.. I looked under there and it looks like there are two more skirts in there.. A

Don't name it because of what I said. There are other doubles out there and I am not familiar with the differences in the leaves and some of the blooms. I just wanted you to know that I had one that acted the same way. LOL!!

Mesilla Park, NM

hehehe.. I always call it The Double White that doesn't have a name..lol..

I agree Brugie! Did it ever drop its skirt?

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

MY CDW did the same thing,I am not saying that is what you have,I am the last person you want IDing them,LOL!

Looks like my CDW also

It has been real slow in opening up, and the evenings lets out a nice aroma. I can't describe it yet (don't know the brug lingo good enough) but, it smells thick. Will post a pic if it does something.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Gourd, did you ever get a shot of this open?

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh root, it rotted and fell off. I am bloomless.. got one today that opened a little a single. Someday my brugs are going to realize that they are in California and they should do something.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gosh, bloomless on Easter! Not fair.

Mesilla Park, NM

This is the only one that is almost there. I can hardly wait for them to start blooming. I don't know which this is, have had this one for about 4 years (started off with a Yellow and White) this is the white one. Usually it points to the sides, right now it is 81 degrees in the shade and I have this in full sun. Might have to move it.

Here is the double white, it has two that are about to open, hopefully they will stay on.

Kell, that's right, that's not fair to be bloomless on Easter. Lol.. I usually have some blooms for Thanksgiving though.

We will have to see more pictures as they open more. I'll bet they are both really pretty in full bloom.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Gourd sorry to hear it dropped,I want to see these open too.

Mesilla Park, NM

I'll keep my eye on them and post them when they open up more.. Just realized that one of the dogs is in the photo. Just can't seem to get away from them, they are in almost every photo I take (my three shadows).

Antoinette, you sent me a cutting of this one long ago, and I have three blooms beginning right now. Here it is:

Here's another pic of a bloom this past January:

Mine gets mostly cool shade all day so perhaps it is one of those that doesn't do well in full sun.

Clare, I think I'll show this photo to mine and maybe it will open up. Your's looks great, I love the way it looks. I have it under shade cloth and maybe I should move it to full shade. Thanks for showing us the picture of it. I really like it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Clare, your picture looks so nice. Mine usually browned a little on the edges and the calyx always turned dry on it. It could have been something I was doing, but it was the only one that it happened to.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Sure, Antoinette. Thanks for sending it to me. You probably don't remember, but you sent me a double white, a pink, a yellow, and something else. That something else has small leaves and has never bloomed for me. Do you remember what it could be? Here's a picture of it:

Thanks, Shirley! Do you think it's the direct sun? I will watch mine because it does get a few hours of morning sun. I noticed that, when the wind came up, my plant dropped some of its buds. It definitely does not like the wind!

Gosh Clare, I have no idea. I had a white, pink, yellow and then the double white. It may be white one. I have two that I have potted up three times and they just won't grow. It is a Shredded White and another white one un-named. That was about 2 years ago.. how time flys.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Antoinette. Maybe with some extra encouragement I can get it to bloom this summer. I'm dying to see what it is. It is probably a white then. You are so right about how time just whizzes by.

Mesilla Park, NM

Here is the same plant with a bloom open and the second skirt hopefully will fall tomorrow. You should smell this, it is really something. Took the picture at about 7:30 tonight, just got home....

Oh how I wish I could smell it!!!!

It looks like it will be a looker. Isn't the fragrance of some of them awesome.

Thanks, Doc! And thanks to Antoinette for sending me the cutting!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Clare, you sure have some nice flowers. I would love to see some shots of your place from a distance....like a yard view. Bet it is awesome.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Shirley. That's sweet of you to say. It's actually really crowded because I grow a lot of things in containers. I just rented a U-haul and brought about 25 plants over to my mom's house. That helped free up some space at my house, and she needed more plants at hers! It's hard to take wide shots because there are so many small areas here, and the details are lost in the wide shots, but if Antoinette will forgive me for hijacking her thread, here are some pictures.

Those brugs are very pretty and I actually see some grass back there so you must still have room. LOL! Very pretty.
