You have a lovely yard root!!! I love it! So "tropical" :o)

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Glad I'm not the only one up at 2 a.m. Your yard is fantastic Root. You did a great job. All your plants look so healthy and happy. What is your secret? What are your plans for summer planting. Assuming we will have a summer this year. I'm starting to lose faith that it will come. It's still SO cold. Thanks for the winter pick me up.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

DatD,No Brugs up front,EEs,I am going to chop the willow down, will be a shade garden up front, how's that for change?

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

it WILL come!!! still have a little faith... even though we're having our first big snow of the winter. :) root- there is not an ugly side of your house. thank you for the pictures!! yay someones up late with me :)

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Compost!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I love the look of willows but there very hard on pipes and foundations. A shade garden, huh! I'd say that is a big change. What plants are you going to put in there? I always have extra shade plants if you need some.

I'm changing my front area as well, but not as drastic as yours. Where will you put all your brugs and EE's? I'm wondering where all of mine will go? They take up so much room.

I'm trying to keep the faith art. I'm just not a fan of anything having to do with winter. I actually start to go down hill when fall hits. That is my dreaded four letter word, LOL...
Hope you don't get much snow.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Kristi,I'll take a pic for you tomorrow,LOL!

Edit to say
I think this year you will have to come into the yard to see the treasures!

Very nice, Root! When were those pictures taken? How old is the Willow? I will retaliate by posting a rose picture...I have a Brug. that is trying to bloom while in my kitchen, it is snowing outside as I type this...

Great show Root! But I do see some grass still.

Why no Brugs up front? All the people that drive by need to see one in full flower!

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

Very nice! You really deserved that "yard of the month"! Maybe it should say "yard of the year" ;)

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Great yard Root! Thanks for sharing! Y'all will just love this -- we have snow on the ground! First time since I moved to south central Texas in 1996!

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

super nice pics root---but how come no brugs in the front? the cities been hasseling you about obstructing traffic again huh? all those ppl slowing down to see *what the heck was that?* I know willows are suppose to be bad, but I really wanted to put one next to my pond--not practical I know leaves n roots n stuff but they are so graceful, and a breeze gives em so much movement.

Here is some snow in Denton.

Enjoyed your pics Root. I was zzzzz when you guys were all here talking away.

Can spring be far off? Sure hope not, can hardly wait!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the pictures root. Your yard must be spectacular! Can't wait to see what you do this year.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks for your lovely pictures, Root. They sure brightened my day after waking up to sleet covering everythings morning. All my irises that have been blooming for over a month now are mush. The green in the grass is gone and it officially looks like Winter here. We didn't get any of the pretty snow they got a few miles up the road from us, just sleet. boo hoo

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Root, your yard is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Oh Hope! You've got to get some heat in the house. Forty is too cold. Do you have gas or electric heat you can use. Can you ask a neighbor or a friend to help you split some wood.

I'm sorry your having troubles. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Please try and call someone up to help you out. You can't stay in that tempature for very long. Maybe someone in the community can help you out- sheriff or fireman? Or perhaps they can give you the resources you need. I'm worried about you.

Wonderful site to see this morning Root! Your gardens are beautiful.
No snow here, but it was 40*F for a few hours early this morning. Now the sun is shining. Hope the worst is over.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

Wow Root!
Your yard is fantastic!
I wouldn't change a thing. Why fix something that isn't broke?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Enjoyed the tour root,do you have automatic sprinklers doing your watering,or you likre me watering everynite when get home from work?
Also are you using granuler fertilzer or water soluble?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you for sharing the pictures Rooty. Your garden looks beautiful. The Brugmansias look great, being loaded with flowers.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

That is beautiful Root! What a great site to see after looking at this construction mess here all day. Grrrrr ... a couple more weeks once again. Love it and thanks for sharing.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

root the yard looks great...but doesent it kill you to look at those pictures?????

I don't think spring will ever get here......

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks all!!!
Tman,I use a few soaker hoses, and water soluble fert,I switched to Peters 20/20/20 this year,I like it better then MG

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yep,I think peters and shultz are a lot better than MG,you run the fertilzer through your soaker hoses?
I've been mixing mine in 55 gallon drum and use a submersible pump to fertilze my plants works great.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

That is a good idea,I have been using the MG bottles that hook to the hose.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

what about super thrive?? its advertising lots places magazines to?? thanks so much christi.. got burners on stove on..

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm pretty sure Super Thrive isn't something you would water with outside. It would cost you an arm and a leg. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. Too late for me to think.

Doc, isn't it about killing you to see all those plants in the house and wanting to get them outside? I can't wait for warm weather. I won't even mind mowing the lawn a few times. Your pictures are always good.
