An awesome looking grow light just fell into my lap. It is a Halide Grow Light, 175 watt using M57 types bulbs. DH sometimes does computer work for barter, and this is the proposed payoff. I normally do my indoor sowing with cool fluorescents hovering 2” above my seedlings. But this is a whole different ball of wax. I have a short growing season so I immediately though tomatoes and peppers when I saw it. However, I need some advise.
How far above the seedlings should the light be placed so that I don’t end up with fried green tomatoes? (Or leggy tomatoes for that matter)
How should I shield the nearby wall from being bleached without catching the house on fire?
Is this a good light? Any praises or concerns?
Thanks for any advise you can give,
